As I suggested earlier we need to set a date rather than find one that suits every forum member. We just need to look back to last year's to see that - there were probably 10 different dates until one was finally settled on which suited "everyone" and then only a handful of people turned up

in August there won't be a weekend when everyone is available so we need to fix a date and let people make arrangements. It's a long way to travel for most so they may wish to book hotels in the busiest part of the year which means they need to do it in advance. Others may need to book time off work if they want to make a longer break of it etc etc etc.

A date needs to be fixed asap and people can then either find a way of being there or saying "no I've got other commitments and i'll go to the next one"

I agree that a date must be set and if I am available, I will turn up and if I'm not, I can't.
I wasn't saying not to hold it on that weekend just because 'I' couldn't make it, but as no date has been set as yet, I was just stating I couldn't make that particular date

Fair point Pammy although the "season" extends to the end of September down here in the South where it's warmer so hotel booking would still be an issue.

Might be able to make an extended weekend but we'll have only just got back from France so need to go back to work at some time BUt we could perhaps come down on the Friday and leave on the Monday. I'll check with his nibs. We would be in the bus though

maybe if there's enough to make it fun but the hotel we were in last year worked out as cheap as the campsite (plus it was only about 5 minutes from John's and allowed dogs)

we stayed there last year and are happy to recommend it

No special "club deal" is available as they already have an offer that weekend.

The cost is £96.75 per person for three nights Friday, Saturday and Sunday and includes dinner bed and breakfast.

Dogs, kids etc are welcome.
