My Audio 10 cassette/CD changer just isn't good enough.

For one my CD changer doesn't work, and I do not even own a tape to play on it!

I had a Sony CD/MP3 (2003) head unit, that i would consider fitting, as I cannot afford a COMAND at present.

Just wondering if anyone had managed to get the steering wheel controls working on an aftermarket head unit on this car model. I've searched the forums, and it seems some have with Kenwood's and some have not. It also seems to depend on the year of the car, as well as the make of the head unit.

Any help is most appreciated.

Thank you

R

I have a kenwood steering control adapter on order, I have heard its a bit hit and miss if they work, but ill soon see :)

When i looked into it for the becker grand prix they said there was not one done, it looks like a bit of a job to fit too as you have to remove the instrument binicle to get to the wire. Good look with it if you find one, if you could update with pics i would appreciate it! thank you.

Hi,
I believe Alpine do steering wheel control adapter boxes, can,t quote pt. no. or model numbers have a look on their web site.

well the steering wheel controls now work with my kenwood, and i am now a happy driver again :)

excellent!

do the radio stations show up in the information cluster? can the radio stations be controlled by the steering wheel? or are the only functions volume?

if you could please link to the items or give part numbers i'd be grateful!

cheers.

I dont think any aftermarket solution can bring up the information in the cluster. the controls I have are, volume up/down, mute, radio / cd track up and down

this is the product here

Kenwwod part no?

well the steering wheel controls now work with my kenwood, and i am now a happy driver again :)
