Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

It took me about 4 years to get my plate, all this bs about being sort after, its worth so much etc etc.....so why hasn't it sold then?
I kept on for the 4 years to different dealers, until one took me seriously, then 3 days before Christmas I offered £100 more than I had before, but wanted it on my car for Christmas.
Deal was done.
Still less than half the advertised price.

It depends who wants MDM 1.
It really could well sell at over £100,000.

There are 3 letter, 1 number plates HERE for over £100,000.
Of course it depends on who wants it but the trick is, are they willing to pay £100,000 for it??

Anyway, I actually know somebody who has a 3 letter and a 1 in their plate and even though they’re multi millionaires they wouldn’t have paid £100,000 for it. They’d have bought a couple of extra skip lorries instead.

A lot of plate prices depend on the initials themselves. For example, my initials on a plate DJW would be a lot dearer than my wife’s CVW. Reason being that not many people have a middle name beginning with a V yet a name beginning with a J is very common. My daughters initials are SXW so hopefully that’ll be a nice cheap plate.

I think most plate dealers don’t even have the plates that they’re selling which is why they just whack a huge price on it.

What I concluded was they don't speak to the owner.
The one I finally dealt with obviously did and we struck a deal.

When I sold one, all the dealers were asking way way way more than i wanted, I wanted £500, they were advertising it for £2500!!
To be fair I did end up with £800, but I got it for free 😁, who knows what the new buyer paid.

What’s your plate?

Someone i know has just sold this with the car 1k
It does happen and it’s a result when it does.

One of my homies bought a Honda about 18 years ago. It came with a 3x2 (3 numbers and 2 letters).
Later on in his life he started up his own design consultancy and named it after the 3 letters on the number plate!! Cool or what. 👍👍

That's where our company name comes from, first 3 letters off the Imp reg.
Now on the E55. :)

Saw some Merc SUV thingy with the last 3 letters MAT.

But the interesting thing was he had removed the "I and C" and left "4mat" from the rear badge :)

Everything has its price. Not all 3X1 plates are worth good money.
Who'd pay even £5,000 for ZJZ 3?

MDM 1 can be viewed in the same way as AMS 1 if we use your rationale. They are both 3X1's.

If Lord Sugar didn't already own AMS 1 and it became available...

So, the plate could quite easily fetch really strong money.

A lot of valuable plates are POA, which I should think is a way of finding out "who's asking?"

What I was saying was why could MDM 1 be expected to raise £100,000 or more when PBD 1 only fetched £20,000? There both decent sets of initials.

ZJZ 3 would most likely be dirt cheap just like a plate with my daughters initials which are SXW.

PS, just texted my mate Zeb John Zak the Third and he asked if you’ve seen a cheap plate with his initials?

Bloody "4matic" badge on the bootlid is a PITA , I've seen a few with the "c" missing , my washmit always snags on the "c" , I keep having to straighten it after washing the car.
