Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

The only 1 plate with 3 letters and the number 1 on there I could see is
1 AMY at €125k

Thats a lot different from MDM 1.

MDM 1 is not unlike some of the ones below.

I recall WOW 1 being on a Panther Lima owned by car radio installation company Transound circa 35 years ago.

We can all make speculative guesses as to what any plate is worth, but only the eventual buyer will actually know.
I know that in 1968 the price paid for MDM 1 was £400. At that time I paid £35 for my first car before I was legally old enough to drive.
Investing in something without and engine and I couldn't actually drive was not really on my radar.......

Check out F1 that's ridiculous 🙄

He does. I wonder if that was £100,000. 🤷‍♂️ Bet it wasn’t.

I'm not sure how much it cost, but I do recall him saying that the seller gave him just 30 minutes to make his mind up if he was having it or not.

I'd like to think it's an appreciating asset.

Normally AMG 1 would be more desireable, but I do think 1 AMG works very well too.

I dont get why the number at the end is worth more than the number at the front.

I’d have thought it’ll be an appreciating asset so long as AMG cars are about although AMG 1 is on a Rolls!!

To me 1 AMG is as good as AMG 1.

I should think It has always been this way and as a rule (there will always be exceptions) I think it's right.

TOM 1 is more desireable than 1 TOM and so on.

I know its that way, but I don't understand why? 🤪
Why is it right?

If I was called TOM, or similar I don't see why the 1 at the back is worth more than the 1 at the front, either are the same.

I think I would prefer 1 TOM, even though I'm not called Tom I'd be happy with the cheaper version!

Perhaps I am the only one, but paying the stupid amounts of money (anything over £500) on a numberplate is daft.

Just IMHO of course and no offence intended!

Like a dog, a number plate is for life.

Nice ones generally become investments or family heirlooms(as such) and get handed down, so the price becomes less and less over the years.
My son says he wants mine when I die, even though its my name, he wants it out of respect to me.

Different strokes and all that.
