Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

MT 1 on a 911 Turbo on the M20.

RS06BAD on a very nice blue RS6 Estate somewhere near Mansfield.

My hot tip is if you have a number plate and start your own business then name the business after the plate - saves thousands hence
Dave Solomon Telephones = DST became DST UK after the plate D5 TUK was purchased for a few hundred.

My initials are BDS ( I dont use my first name) and Im just waiting on BDS 9 which if I put it on the Aston DB 9 looks really sad like Im trying to get the letters but not quite so its not going on the Aston !!!

Last week I got another call asking If I wanted (could afford) D5 (my late brothers plate) which isnt for sale and if it was for sale my sister in law has promised me first option - its wrong how they punt these things without any solid info on availability.

Saw DEL 80Y this morning. As it was rather early I admit I cannot remember what car is was on :o(though 'might' have been a CLK)

I remember seeing the same plate on a replica Trotters Independent Traders Reliant Robin when I was a kid.

Vehicle Make/Model: BENTLEY ARNAGE GREEN LABEL AUTO

DEL80Y is on a BENTLEY ARNAGE GREEN LABEL. Hope that helps.

Hmmm; certainly was not one of them! I guess it was a doctored plate to read just like that. Lets put it down to the fact that it was early an I am a Rodney!

Anyone care to guess who this USE to belong to?

CUB1 = Cubby Broccolli

Assuming it's a UK registration, the first character must have been doctored, as you can't have an I (or a 1) in that position. If it was on a silver Vauxhall Omega, then it would actually have been LCU 2.

'J' and 'T' also tend to get modified to look like 'I' or '1', but JCU 2 and TCU 2 do not appear to be in circulation.

Although ICU2 does not exsist ,i think you can have a I at front , as i saw ILL8055 on a Discovery - and it lists

Yes, apologies, I should have make it clear that I meant in the context of that particular number plate. Equally, UK plates can of course start with a 1, but not if they end with a 2 (diplomatic plates excepted).

While the letter I is not used in standard DVLA-issued registrations, it does appear in some of the special marks issued to embassies and high commissions (eg: IND 1, ISR 1, ITA 1, 1 CHI, FIJ 1, HAI 1, LIB 1, NIC 1, PHI 1, RI 1, ZAI 1)

It has also been used in Northern Irish plates (such as the one you spotted) and old-style Republic of Ireland plates, where it can appear in any position within the permitted combinations of letters. ICU, however, is not a valid NI combination. IC and IU were issued in the Republic, but ROI plates are not generally transferrable onto UK-registered cars - with a few notable exceptions, one of which is currently gracing Mr Abramovitch's car.

On the subject of diplomatic plates, turns out that 1 TT (which I reported having seen in London recently) is assigned to the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission.

There is a SL (R129) in Banstead with the plate PEN 510N.

The plate I have always liked and seen several times on a Silver W210 320CDI estate is TEN5ION.

IIRC it was for sale at £25K but does look superb.
