Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

I saw L1TTT on a Blue Rolls Royce Park Ward on the A406. I believe this car belongs to Asian business tycoon Avtar Litt, who was sat in the back as his chauffeur drove.

I was so mesmerised by the plate, LU51FER, I didn't check out the badging on the car, but I think it was a Ferrari.

I saw 5 G on a Porsche Panamera yesterday.

Used to see a Rolls Royce in Hatton Garden in London... CLA55Y
Overtook a black MGB GT a few years back being driven by a lady with long blonde hair (hm, yep, definitely a lady)... DO U 69
Pulled into my local petrol station next to an Aston Martin DB9... CRU15E

Owned by Graham Gillespie of Gillespie Mining, forming part of his collection: G 1, G 2, G 3, 4 G, 5 G and 6 G. The last three were bought at DVLA auctions in 1992/93 for hammer prices of £14,500, £10,000 and £7000 respectively.

I remember seeing 4 G on a BMW X5 M about a week ago, and G 1 on a Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe a few months ago. That's one lucky guy.:(

Currently on a BMW X5, but it started out life as a standard issue on a MkV Ford Cortina. Someone got very lucky there.

I've seen CLA55Y around Manchester/Cheshire in the past. On a black Range Rover the last time IIRC.

Yesterday 6 EU on a silver B class I think.

Today, MC 3 on a black BMW 3-Series.

Did BMW 735 or BMW 735L start it's life on a moped? It's a story I heared many moons ago and I'm curious as to the origin of the registration if it can be unearthed please. :)

Sorry, ringway - don't have anything listed for those two. :(

10-12 years ago I was offered (from one of my customers) a red BMW 635CSI (I have always admired these cars) with the number plate 42 BMW for around £6,500 -7,000.

The offer was there for months but I declined.

I have since seen the plate on a 3-Series a few years ago.

Problem is - you can't really search that one on Google, can you? BMW 735 and Private Registration Plate is bound ton come up with a trillion hits.... :(

Correction - very few hits actually, but not relevant.

Finally - the great MOCAŠ has been defeated...

I'm afraid it is all too easy to defeat me, as I don't have access to any 'inside' knowledge (and if I did, I obviously wouldn't be sharing it on a forum).

As mentioned in post 6821 (and I refuse to believe that there are people who haven't read their way through this enitre thread :D), the details I've posted here have been voluntarily submitted for publication by the owners, so while some plates will be listed, there will be many more that will not.

51 N was issued in October 2000, when it was sold for £9000 by the DVLA.

None of the reverse series plates (ie: with the numbers before the letters) were issued before the mid 1950s, and they continued to be issued by some licensing authorities up until the mid-1960s (even after the suffix-style plates were introduced in 1963).

This site will tell you when/where (or whether) a plate was issued:
Numberplates.com: When and where was your number plate issued

and you can check whether a plate has been sold at auction here:
Previous registrations search. Searches previous style registrations
