Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

S VIOLET. On a Range Rover Discovery. New shape thing.

The driver looks nothing like a shrinking violet for sure.

I wonder what they would use it for though.

Manufacturers seem to have less obvious plates in adverts from what I've seen - like 911 HUL for Porsche.

I would have thought 911 POR or POR 911 would be more appropriate (unless HUL has significance?).

Others just use random dateless ones (which look right when reversed - I guess so they can use the advert on LHD cars without having to re-record...).

I always liked TUR80 on their press fleet, doesn't work quite as well now every car has one.

Seen Craig Phillips' van today in Newport, Shropshire with the reg MRD 1Y. Wonder if he originally had it respaced and had a telling off? Those bloody scousers get everywhere!

Porsche do afaik own 911 POR , POR 911 and A911 .As for HUL -all Porsche wanted was a 911 plate -so HUL is random and has no significance

Guess what it is?

I know the RAD 101 / RADIO 1 Merc guy, he used to own a car audio place at the bottom of North Hill in Colchester. He got that plate before BBC Radio 1 existed. They have since offered him 5 and 6 figure sums for it apparently, and he's repeatedly turned them down.
