Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

The DVLA must have made a fortune on the F4 O and F40 plates.

Spotted a chap sitting in a small Citroen (C3?) yesterday in a hotel car park in Lancaster, Registration B16 YUN. I thought "hmmm, I wonder if he really is a big 'un?"

Then he got out of the car. All six foot eight inches of him. (I asked!)

I know the RAD 101 / RADIO 1 Merc guy, he used to own a car audio place at the bottom of North Hill in Colchester. He got that plate before BBC Radio 1 existed. They have since offered him 5 and 6 figure sums for it apparently, and he's repeatedly turned them down.

Aaahh, probably explains it then - sure that they plate must be worth an awful lot to the right person / company!

Not a good number plate as such but this thread prompted me too check my grandads old Lagondas plate FTL 1, and it's now on a Skoda Fabia . Glad he's not here to witness such dark times

Old MGBGT had GUB 1, again nothing fancy but now comes up with nothing.

My mates dads old Mercedes motor home has reg 52K which always seems a curious plate.

And just saw a Mercedes convertible this morning with what looked like DE11 BOY, but that comes up as a Range Rover.

I'm gonna guess blonde, early 20s, running a little mobile business as a beauty therapist or nail technician. Hence the plate.

Unfortunately you couldn't be more wrong :p. Was a middle-aged chap, respectable looking and I sometimes see it parked on the business park I work at. Office storage / archiving company perhaps :dk:

I used to have F40 MRT - wasn't worth a penny as car had to be scrapped and was minus an MOT so couldn't put on retention

Strikes me as stupid the plate cannot just be transferred off the vehicle anyway regardless.

It's not like the DVLA aren't making money off the transfers and what difference would it make to them anyway if the plate were transferable without these stupid pre-requisites...

I think the entire system is daft. Why can't we have what we want and pay for it. Obviously there will be restrictions but I think it would earn the DVLA more money.

DVLA had C635AMG up for auction in July I think, the reserve was £250!! Wonder if anyone on here bought it?

Is that how much the plate in #18861 fetched or is that a plate?

I assume a plate as I can't believe anyone would be nuts enough to part with nearly 100 big ones for a model-specific plate.
