Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

A quick bit of reverse searching on the database shows some extremely costly plates on some very modest cars, e.g.
A1 - listed on a 2007 Mini Cooper
A12 - 1997 BMW 328i
B1 - 2014 Smart

Of course other similar plates are on some high end cars, but presumably a fair number of owners have held onto old plates for a long time despite the huge value increase.
Interestingly I put the reg I posted above, 45A, into the government's vehicles enquiry service and it comes up as being on a 2004 BMW.

I thought her Maj owned the right to use this plate.

HM doesn’t bother with number plates, and legally, doesn’t have to.

All those £80 fees She’s got away with! Makes you want a Republic... well maybe not

I didn't think she actually displayed it - just owned the right but seems like wherever I heard / read that was probably not right anyway:

At least now when it goes on retention it lasts for yrs instead of every year.

The first A1 buyer (after the original/first owner, in 1903, [Earl Russel]) was Dunlop Holdings;
it has also been said to have been owned by the Sultan of Brunei - these days I have no idea, but clearly an investment plate, at no point however has been owned/similar to the Queen, or indeed any Royal family member.

I last saw B1 on a Bugatti, but that was about 10 years ago; the owner also claimed to own the mirror plate to it - 1B

To put some perspective on possible values, SC 1 (first Scottish/Edinburgh plate issued) was last (privately) sold for £400,000.

Saw SW15 SKW on a 2018 VW Transporter/Caravelle. The reason that it caught my eye was that it had the Swiss Motorway Tax sticker (vignette).
