it has also been said to have been owned by the Sultan of Brunei - these days I have no idea, but clearly an investment plate, at no point however has been owned/similar to the Queen, or indeed any Royal family member.

Yes, I read up on it after that post as per post #19406 above. The info on WP would seem to be correct given what you know on it...

BTW you never own the plate, only the right to display it.
