Audio TV Comand etc

The comand installation in my previous car is in there somewhere :)

Woow, what a set of images. There are some cool but very expensive looking mods in that lot.

Out of interest, in the W202's, that climate control thing replacing the front vent controls, is that a medium budget, medium skillset mod because that looks a lot better than the twisty controls.

Wouldn't mind giving that mod a go, budget allowing of course

Had to laugh! I followed the link and noticed on the left what must be a section for Escort owners ......it ends in bord !

especially have a look at page 11, retro fitting DVD comand to a W211 - not a 5 minute job methinks

When you exchange COMAND from a radio system the speaker wires need to go to the trunk not the dashboard. Since all the wires run to the trunk for sound many people opt for Harmon Kardon sound since it really wont make that much difference in overall cost as the main outlay is in the audio gateway which now takes over the audio role.

The idea of removing the dash cover is so that clear access can be made to install the mid speaker properly.

Having installed several BOSE systems in the older W203 type of car, this work is generally quite similar.

From the point of view of just installing COMAND its not that difficult. It most certainly is a small job if you already have a premium sound system to begin with then it would not be a large effort.
