Bad men at MB break my car

My 6 year old SL500 which I bought about 6 weeks ago has a full main dealer MB history and has not missed any services or recalls. I have been systematically going round the car and fixing any minor issues as I go but one thing I have noticed to my severe annoyance is that many of the clips and fixings are either broken or missing altogether. Things like trim fasteners and 'rivets' are damaged. These parts cost pennies and take seconds to replace and are often the difference between rattling trim and a silent car.

I can only assume that when the workshops are taking trim off they do not replace these items if they break them. I went with a shopping list to my local parts dept and spent a whole tenner on clips, fasteners and rivets to tie my car back together properly. My suspicion was confirmed when they had to order every part in.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes,so true.If your SL has only been at MB for work, you shouldn't experience these missing/broken bits and pieces.I would most definitely be very upset if that would happen to me.
It's the little things that count/matter sometimes:)
Even worst is when they don't admit doing the damage:mad: If they'd only taken the time to carefully undo things instead of ripping them out.
I understand if it was some back-street garage(I'm NOT saying they're all bad) but not a MB dealership. They shouldn't do below standard work because they do have a reputation to uphold.
Let's hope for the future:rolleyes:

the clips always break... I keep a good selection of clips in stock.
