All the aluminium castings have been vapour blasted and/or glass bead blasted, gives an as new finish to old engie parts. These are the guys that sort that out for me: AQUA VAPOUR BLASTING SERVICES WHEEL REFURB BSA VESPA LAMBRETTA NORTON TRIUMPH VW | eBay Any engine parts I need cleaned up go to them, a high quality service and I thoroughly recommend them.:thumb:

Got myself a good quality toothbrush to get into all those looks and crannies going forward!!

Are the Alu' castings lacquered??

No, the heat can make the lacquer turn yellowish, but I have done the bolt heads.

The block has been done in black enamel vht paint.

I'm planning on having the rocker cover powder coated, should look great.

Billy, you better look after this car once its done! lol.

Good thinking on the lacquer Batman, I shall purchase a Tecalemit 2 poster for the garage along with the brush I've already bought. Should keep me busy on Sundays!!

..was planning on entering the Dakar rally with it

Well done! Looks like it's just been assembled in factory!

"..was planning on entering the Dakar rally with it"
or you could go for the Mongolia rally - they only allow old bangers:-)

This is what i wanted to do with my 3.2 when it was going into my car, have it fully rebuilt and reconditioned like brand new. Then reality kicked in and I realised theres no way id be able to keep the whole thing as clean with the amount of long distance driving i do. So I just had a new headgasket done and rocker cover repainted.

Ive got 20 or 30 pics of the car at different stages including the engine being done too during the transplant somewhere in my emails.

Billy, have you done any internal mods to get more power or anything or just left it completely stock?
