W203 2006 180K Sport Edition & ML164 sport
I recently purchased a w203 sport edition 2006 and it got the phone installation with a UHI cradle. I wanted tohave a bluetooth facility and I bought from Ebay The Mercedes-Benz Bluetooth mobile phone cradle Part NO: B6 787 5840 wich I belive it is version 1.
With the BT cradle came three boockelet , none of them do not show any indication about PAIRING, it only instruct about the COMAND.
I can not see any indication about the pass key to use.
If I do search for BT devices with my mobile phone, it detect all the time the UHI, only few times it detect MB phone and if i enter 62872 as Pass Key it fails to pair.
any installation tips or step by step istructions will be very much appreciated.

You're doing it the wrong way around.

Let the bluetooth module find the phone.

Make sure your phone has "remote sim" capability.

according to MB instructions, by pressing the button on the cradle more than 3 sec, it bring the device in discoverable mode not insearch mode???

This sounds more like the BT HF device could do? Have not seen the device or the manual though.

I have scanned the BT SAP V1 user guide but it appeared to be 6 MB, too big to be uploaded. Should have scanned it differently.

Which head unit do you have?

This is a BT SAP device, you would need a 16 digit code. The car should give you the code and you would then enter this code on your phone. Are you sure your phone is BT SAP capable (and SAP enabled like Dent Guy mentioned)?

Pairing depends on the head unit, it generally starts with pressing the BT puck button a couple of seconds, it starts flashing rapidly. Then pressing the phone dial key button repeatedly until you find a list of available BT devices. Select the desired phone and press the dial key again. Your head unit should show the 16 digit code and your phone should show a code entry query. Enter the code, usually has to happen within a limited time.

Diesel Benz is spot on with all the above.......

If pairing is sucessful then you will hear an acsending tone from your car.

If failed, then a decending tone.

According to my user manual I have a DVD COMAND APS
I,m no sure if my Phone is SAP capable, But its all this matter just to pair it??
If it is that so do any one tryed the Nokia 6500 or the Nokia8800 ,These are the one I,d like to get just to make all work.

You cannot get the BT SAP pairing done with a phone that does not support BT SAP.

I had a look at Nokia web, I did not find a user guide for the 6500. Just about all new Nokias have had BT SAP support but this seems ambiguous. On the accessories listing they did not show the N616 car kit (on the other hand, it should always work with N616 as it supports both HF and SAP).

Nokia N616 specific accessory pages used to have a list of supported phones, separately indicating if BT SAP mode or HF mode was supported, but that seems to be gone  I could not figure out if Nokia 6500 would support SAP or not.

MB at least lists Nokia 8800 compatible with the BT SAP device. But I had a look at the user guide of Nokia 8800 and could not find a setting for BT SAP, perhaps it always uses BT SAP

I'd suggest trying the Nokia 8800 first. Activate BT and if you can find a setting for BT SAP (remote SIM), activate that. After pairing, set automatic connections allowed for the MB BT device.

Thank you very much Diesel Benz, I certainly will try that and I will keep you posted.;)

Eureca, :bannana: :bannana: :bannana: Thank you very much every one, by following the instruction by Diesel Benz I tryed the Nokia 6500 and it paired successfully and it downloaded the phone book by it self.
I will keep you posted :)
