Bought a C250CDi and it feels slow

Everything indicates it being a 250, not a 220.

And here is the problem.

The bigger the wheel, the slower the car...Fact.

If the wheel size goes up and the tyre profile comes down to keep the rolling circumference the same. Nothing should change.

What's the power and torque figures now. It must have a very high specific power and torque now

Did that ever get answered or was it sidetracked by the MPG debate?

(Sorry, can't face trawling through the last 70 posts again today)

Are you serious or is that tongue in cheek?

***, Dieselman and others were generally factual which is very helpful to those less well educated about remapping.

Steve C250 came back with multiple insults ranging from "nieve and unintelligent" to "mindless and pointless".

If we're not careful we'll start alienating the people who actually offer help and assistance on this forum as apparently they're not good enough at wrapping their factual comments up in cotton wool.

Serious I'm afraid but it doesn't refer to *** in my book!
Anyone who can take such photos and have such a love of
the countryside is bound to be exempt. He also has a very nice way of putting things.

No and I'd love to know. Ian F on here looked at getting a brabus box on a 250cdi, that apparently took the car to 240bhp approx but it would mean over 400ft/lb torque. But it's where that's made in the rev range and how peaky the power delivery is made.

Alas I will have to await another poster who does this and hope if any questions are asked, they see it as questions and interest, rather than a slur.

Is this comment is aimed at me?

I've read all the posts on here, and find it amazing that we have such varied levels of understanding, and if I may add, such varied levels of arrogance. And in this post by 'Sweeney Todd' a clear indication of an Internet hardman, or just a unintelligent, nusense who actually adds nothing of value to the thread or of any actual benefit on either argument, maybe just another jealous individual lacking the funds to purchase outright such a car as many of us choose to drive on this forum.

Either way, DM: your comments are repetitive, and I understand your repeated comment about needing more fuel to basically go quicker will therefor lessen fuel economy! At what point did I say that I had my vehicle remapped just for performance improvements? At what point did I say, that when, on the odd occasion I do use the accelerator more forcefully, that I'd expect my fuel economy to be better than the original ecu format?

The bottom line with any remap is all dependant on the users initial request, in my case I went for balance, so to improve economy for long haul, as I do on average 1000 miles per week, and increased pull for when I fancy a brisk flirt with the acceleration.

I have had every performance car I've ever owned tuned to one level or another, these include Porsche 911's, yes the M3, Audi TT's Audi S4's etc etc etc, and ALL from brim to brim when used as I use the car, have given me better economy when driven carefully, and also given more fun when driven hard.

So, to those who require 'evidence' , 'proof' of my obvious gains I'm experiencing, seriously, go annoy someone else. For those who initially posted on here and were most helpful, I thank you, and have enjoyed, until my previous post, being a member of a forum I had assumed and hoped was idiot, sceptic and fool free. Alas, not to be, although I will say it is always the minority that talk b o l l o c k s the loudest most often lol

As for my continued use of this forum, tbh, I've had my fill, (pun) and will delete my account tomorrow evening once you all have time to read this, make of it as you will, and carry on as normal being either generally decent people, helpful and able to communicate on a mature and beneficial level, or like some on here, continue to be confrontational, unhelpful and tbh not the kind of persons I'd prefer to find myself associated with.

Can't wait for the replies, especially from DM and ST hahaha

Regards

Steve

Your post paints a picture of you being a spoil brat that thinks everyone should bow down to you even though you are an ignorant idiot, I guess you work in Sales.

We still want proof, so if you would be so good as to post some brim to brim figures before you go...:)

p.s. Don't slam your fingers in the door, we wouldn't want any bits of trash left behind.

@Steve C250; don't take it all too personally, you come across as a straight bloke, but if there's someone (and others) that you don't like on here, just put them on your ignore list.

This is a good forum, don't let a small minority ruin it for you. :thumb:

Stop being a creep Lee, Sweeney Todd is right, the Guy is a complete balloon.

Stop being a creep Lee

Far from it, a creep is someone that sucks up to someone to get something out of it, and I'm getting nothing.

In previous posts, SteveC250 has come across as a decent bloke so I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I'm sure you have to bite your lip a lot with you knowing everything about everything, but do you have to really jump on EVERYONE that vaguely annoys you?

You are a bully. It is not just this thread but the majority of your posts are either sarcastic or rude. Why can't you try and be nice, you appear to me to be a very sad and bitter individual and ironically you appear also to be the spoiled brat.

Good old Northern charm, Lee.

Perhaps you could educate us to who you meant here?

Given that Steve has really exposed himself, why would you say such a thing?

Perhaps you could educate us to who you meant here?

Whoever he sees fit, that's the point.

I don't happen to use the ignore function, it seems a strange concept to me on a forum, but I've heard others talk about it and it's made their time on the forum better.

And surely we are all here to learn from each other, not just bicker?

Continue with? I hadn't made any until his extremely arrogant and insulting post.

For some inexplicable reason, Lee appeared to be soft soaping him.

2 in a row counts as continuing in my book.

However I was trying to make more of a reference to the ongoing number of insults from many members, so please excuse any ambiguity in my phrasing.

Quantity over quality is taking hold on this forum sadly.

Couldn't agree more.

This place used to be very factual and helpful, but now nearly all posts just seem to be conjecture, theory, unqualified opinion and trying to belittle others (because they are jealous )...

So will Steve post his brim to brim calculations, as he was asked to do?

That might be educational.

I'd say that's all I want but I'd like to know over Steves time with the car if it has any issues and with what. Given we have a few members with 250cdi cars and bar injectors and some owners claiming their cars aren't all that on the fuel if Steve posted good brim to brim figures and no mechanical issues I'd say it's a good job.

However if he went through lots of injectors, the odd turbo, gearbox I'd say it's a bad one.

Ps, something I never mentioned but if the car is under warranty and it's remapped kiss it goodbye for engine and gearbox faults.

Likewise if the car is on HP or agility finance it's not the drivers place to modify the car as its not theirs and may well be in breach of the terms of conditions of their finance agreement.

Iirc Steve was a cash buyer but he has tier one dealer warranty and or balance of manufacturers cover. Worth mentioning.

Oops too late, he's gone.

Not read much of this thread but for my 2p, if 0-60mph in 7 secs and 149mph isnt enough, buy a faster car in the first place and keep your warranty intact.

He liked the red paint too much to swap it for a 350cdi

Agree though, the cars performance is excellent out the box.
