Good work there Gav :thumb:

What problems did you come across - some of the leads tight to remove on the coil packs?

Which leads did you replace them with? I know MB are fortunes but I'm sure someone posted up the OE Bosch part numbers somewhere :)

Will

Hi Will,

They were very tight more so on the n/s bank, I used a 17mm spanner and levered against the rocker cover to remove them from the plug.

They pulled off the coils ok some neede a little help with a flat blade screwdriver.

The Leads were replaced with Oe quality supplier I stock called cambeire from my wholesaler.

I pushed the leads back on with a 16mm spanner pressing against the metal heat shield until they clicked on. I really could have done with some silicone grease but I didn't have any to hand.

Job done went for a short drive as the roads are dirty lol but Brutus drive soooo smooth and very responsive, the leads were well past there best mileage is 110k

Amazing work with the maintenance.

Have you considered spacers for the alloys? Just the rears look like they need to come out.

No buddy, they are the correct offset, and width of tyre, because of it being lower than stock slightly think it gives it that impression.

I've since raised it slightly after those pic's:thumb:

Ok as promised here are the Oe Part numbers for the ignitions leads fitted to my e55k

They are made by Bosch.

0356 912 948 - 112 150 01 18 (x9)

0356 912 950 - 112 150 02 18 (x4)

0356 912 952 - 112 150 03 18 (x2)

0356 912 954 - 112 150 04 18 (x1)

^ Out of interest, how much is a set Gav?

My cost was £65 plus vat, i think the cheapest ones on the bay at the moment are the Prospark ones at £81.50 inc vat "carparts for less"

They are made by SMP "standard motor products" i believe, I've had those on one of my Volvo's before and tbf were fine.

The leads from Bosch ranged from £6 each to £11.50 each plus vat from my wholesaler.

Brutus, the Spreadsheet grows

Right now i've attended to everything mechanical and electrical on Brutus my attention has turned to the Interior.

Now it's in very good condition and all working, But.... lol one thing thats always bugged me is the Bubble on the centre console arm rest.

I was going to replace the whole lower centre console, but was worried about trying to source one the exact colour and all the agro fitting it.

Plus I must confess i do like alot of wood in cars, Perhaps it's being the son of a Carpenter i dont know, Now i no it's rather love it or hate it but it's my car and i've always wanted to do this so i have.

After searching everywhere and seen some astronomical prices i managed to find the Wood kit to cover the bubble patch on the armrest.

Sorry for the dark pictures i will take some during the day but untill then here it is:crazy:
