Burgled

well done for standing up to them, I just hope they don't come back better equiped. Any precautions you can put in place?

Get a shot gun . ( for pest control , of course ) .

You need 3 or 4 big dogs.

That sounds brutal. As unadvisable as fighting them is, well done for doing so successfully. They might be less keen to try it again if they know the homeowner's a nutter who'll fight back.

Well done John. So shocked you have to go through this **** again.

All the best mate.

CHEERS

No in the middle of a town!?? but live on corner so they had good access to the back from the road

CCTV not installed yet  and my savage staffy stayed on his bed upstairs until it was over :fail

Thanks Steve, wife is bruised but the effect on her has been much more psychological, she has not left the house since until tonight. I think the car needs to go before this ends... they got the wifes keys off the table so had to have the locks replaced on her Jetta and recode.

What did the police say?

Only the obvious... give them the keys!!

A neighbour saw them get out of car and walk up the drive and called Police before they even got in the Garden... but nearest unit was in next town!!!

That was my first thought. Keep the S4 and move to a safer area.

Glad you and the missus escaped unscathed and fair play for fighting back. It went well for you this time but on another day who knows.
CCTV and alarms appear a must in your postcode:D

Thats a possible, the wife does not feel safe here anymore, the CCTV is due to be installed, the Alarm was not on as we were still up it was 11pm
also getting a quote for laminated glass to downstairs doors /windows.

John,

I'm so sickened to read this. What an awful experience for you all. Well done for preventing what could have been a tragic injury for you wife.

Thank goodness it ended well but as others have said, not sure how you'll ever be able to relax in that house again.

Incidentally a C300h is still a fairly desireable car. Take every step you can to reduce the chances of a repeat.

Take care fella, Ant.

Cheers Ant

We will probably move now, C300h is desirable but not a getaway car! :D

To be fair I work in a very affluent village full of land rovers, Mercs, BMW and Audi. The only cars I ever hear about getting stolen regularly are Audis. I would shift it on.

May I suggest a c43 as relatively discreet if debadged.

Laminated glass / CCTV / Braver dog / Pepper spray

On a side note John a friend of mine keeps a taser in the home for this reason.

I've got the neighbours CCTV footage... I do look a complete nutter in my dressing gown with 2 carving knives running at the gettaway cars, told the police what I had done, as I had not actually caught one of them, they were not to fussed.
Just suggested I might have been run over
