I must be one of the very unlucky ones!!

Lease car ordered direct through MB dealer 1st of May but due to problems they had best delivery date I have been given is 19th of Feb. :(

Still can't wait but peeved to say the least!! Many others brought forward.

That does sound bad luck, I order mine after that and got it before xmas... I wonder if some lease companies get priority in the queue, or you ordered an option that is in shorter supply?

Not sure was told originally July/August but then there was a problem ( grants issues maybe)

Would've thought MB had priority over lease companies especially as the salesman said it I quote " We are MB we can guarantee to deliver "
Never thought he meant 10 months later

Aah I'd misread your first post, even more strange that is is slower through a dealer...

i dont think there is an exact science to how orders are managed or prioritised. Mine is taking 8 months in total, and lots of people who ordered after me are already driving around in theirs. Not that I begrudge them of course!

No doesn't seem like there is much pattern. Don't begrudge anyone either just very jealous and of course bitter towards the dealer

Update, not on the repair of my car but the loan situation. Dealer gave me an E Class estate at the weekend to tide me over as I wanted something a little bigger (I have the C350e estate). Today they swapped that for an S Class. I'm looking forward to the journey to work tomorrow!!
Further update - the parts have arrived early and the dealer is now working on repairing my car. Fingers crossed I'll get it back by the weekend and return the S-Class to the dealer!

You may not believe it but having had the opportunity to drive the S-Class for a fair few miles now, I can honestly say that I prefer my C350e. The S-Class is very refined, quiet and comfy but it's massive and frankly, not as well equipped as my C350e. The lack of keyless entry, no adaptive cruise nor memory seats is really surprising (hardship I know!). It feels like I'm sat in a very comfortable armchair whilst driving a rather large ocean liner down the motorway!

Hi,

It came with two cables, the one for use at plug in stations came in a proper little zip up bag and the bulkier 3 pin in a clear plastic bag. Possibly supplied by the lease company.

Quite possibly, although I must admit they wipe down easy enough. What I have noticed though is that my new blue jeans have left a blue tint on the seats. Oops so will need to get that sorted. Goes well with the blue ambient lights though ; )

There speaks a man with a positive mental attitude :)

Both cables come as standard with the car - one for public charge points and one for domestic mains sockets.

My 8-metre 3-pin cable came in a pukka black zip-up bag.

Hi

I have just received an ecotricity card so I can access all the lovely free electricity up and down the motorway. Looking at the website it appears there are a whole host of charging options available for different vehicles. Looking at the plug on the c350, it looks like it is an AC connection. Are we able to make use of the Fast AC connection as well as the AC Medium.....or are we stuck to AC Medium?

Thanks!

To MPG or not to MPG

So on another matter, mpg... I don't have a charge point and so rely upon the car producing and optimising the use of its own electricity. The result being 20-26mpg on short 5 mile runs (if I'm lucky) 33-38mpg on mixed runs of up to 120miles (driving normally). The best I have achieved so far is the one time I charged up from 3 pin (think it only takes 4hrs but left it on overnight to keep a full charge after preheating) and while driving Miss Daisy on Eco mode I achieved 44mpg on a 70 mile journey, averaging 38mpg on the journey home on comfort setting.

Having now done over 3k miles my overall average is a whopping 32.8mpg. How's that for a so called Eco car! The funny thing is how I get excited when I infrequently get over 40mpg.

Truth be known while it's not overly eco friendly it clearly is more efficient than it would be if just a turbo petrol engine alone. So on that premise, while a controversial topic, I keep telling myself '"well it's not as bad as it could be"...afterall it's more comfortable and practical than a 3.0 Z4 (boxster or type R) but just as quick (ok maybe it doesn't hold the road like they do but how often do those occasions happen).

Anyone buying the car for economy may be disappointed, unless they only travel less than 50 miles a day and charge at both ends. Anyone just wanting a premium/comfy saloon with a big helping of ooomf, will be delighted! That and a lovely reduction in tax bill if it's a company car.

Just my two penneth on the matter, each to their own. ; )

P.s. The gear changes are pretty seamless, as too is the transition from petrol to electric and back (more so now it's ran in) notwithstanding the air suspension dampening the impact of manholes very well, it really is a pleasure/privilege to have one.

Technically speaking you can use the AC fast chargers, but despite their ability to provide up to 50kWh to some cars, you'll still only get about 3kWh from it as the C350e doesn't support fast charging. The unit steps the power down so it win't fry the car, but is it worth tying up the fast charger for the little range you'd get from the time plugged in if you're only stopped for 15 - 20 mins for a coffee?

I use the medium chargers if I know I'm going to be stopped for a while at some of the services, but the main places I've used public charging has been in supermarket car parks and the like, where there are more of the 7kWh charge points or even the 3 pin 3kWh sockets you find in some places are quite useful on occasion.

Nice, but you're going to regret that choice of colour interior with young kids! :)

It depends what you let them get away with! My daughter is 11 and I get nervous every time there's a carful of the little darlings, but it was me who stained the upholstery first when I thought that a 1-year-old pair of jeans wouldn't leave any traces. All clean now, and I've shelved those jeans in favour of some beige ones to go with the seats. :)

Benefit of the electric in the c350e:

Sneaking away from the house quietly
A boost when overtaking
MASSIVELY REDUCED BIK FOR COMPANY CAR OWNERS

The one in capitals is the main reason I am getting one.

We have an order confirmation through for our two c350e's (1x saloon and 1x estate) and they both say 29th April, which seems too good to be true.

Exactly the reason we have two on order at my business.

The reduced BiK is too good to ignore and my commute is 19 miles each way. Even if the electric range is only 15 miles, it will still be a big saving versus my Audi A3 1.6 tdi.

I put my order in through fleet last Thursday; I've had an update today that my car is on order and should be delivered mid-July. Not bad, considering some of the lead times that have been kicked about....
