C350e anyone considering one?

Got my confirmed manufacturing slot today... 25th June (18 weeks)... Time to start counting down (slightly annoying that my dad ordered his new Mitsubishi Phev yesterday is expecting delivery first week in April). What is it with the long c350e lead times? I thought they'd started getting better. Oh well, will have to try and be patient!

Seems to be all about ordering route and dealer. We've ordered through MB leasing a couple of weeks back and the current eta for mine is early April.

Took delivery of my c350e just over a week ago. Car was ordered last September. It was a long wait but well worth it. As with all electric cars the electric range is not particularly good in this cold weather but this will improve as the weather warms up. Having previously owned a Vauxhall Ampera electric car for over three years I am used to this. Mercedes still do not give you the outside temperature display on the UK version of this model which seems very strange to me. A number of other posts have shown that an update to the software can be applied by the dealer to fix this so mine is going back in next week to see what they can do. I have only one problem and that is with the mode 3 charge cable that comes with the car. It doesn't work! It looks to me as though one of the pins in the male plug is not positioned correctly so it simply doesn't connect. This is not a big deal as it is rare that I use public charging posts as most of my driving is just local journeys. I would imagine that the dealer will simply replace the cable as I think that the plugs are moulded on.

There was an article in one of the industry publications from one of the very senior MBUK individuals- who was crying out for more UK allocation for the C350e, as the demand has been so high.
Simply put, the UK allocation isn't/hasn't been enough to cope with the demand. Remains to be seen what effect the grant reduction will make.

From the point the spec gets fixed and it goes into production, it's all very quick. It's getting to the point where they start building it that is the wait!

Those who are getting quick turnarounds, I can only imagine dealers have slots from cancelled orders or dummy orders they can spec amend? Just a guess anyway.

Definitely ... I cancelled my order at one dealers one month after placing the order as I found out another dealer go provide one two months earlier that the firstly said he could - and that's despite placing the order a month later.

Dealer has come true to his word too with the car coming in 6 days before estimated.

Ordered mine beginning of July, standard Sport Saloon. Chased fleet guy a couple of weeks ago as I was given a provisional due date March.

I have now been given the date of 30th June!!!! This was ordered from Daimler Fleet. It is also exactly a year from order to delivery so to see all these people ordering now a getting quick delivery dates is depressing to say the least.

Even visited the local dealer and asked him and he said if I ordered now he could get me one in April.

Fleet guy is a waste of time, he just keeps saying he is too busy to chase. Seriously thinking of cancelling now this is way beyond a joke.

That's nuts. Unless that fit with my renewal dates, I'd be looking elsewhere, best part of a year is outrageous!

It's annoying that new orders are being delivered as quick as previous older orders. I ordered in September and due end of April.

It's painful for many because of the BIK savings being lost with every month. Its costing me 150 quid extra each month for a c200d AMG line which was a pool car.

I have recently found out that fleet companies depending on their discount have different lead times.

Some of the big fleet companies, their cars take longer than private dealer purchaes or dealer leases as the Fleet orders key a required date in line with their estimated leads times which merc provide them (heavy discounts can affect this too) (plus other manufactures too) adhere to these dates and dont push forward as a lot of fleet customers will have other cars on lease which expire on the X date the fleet company gave.

No point a car manufacture building the car early as they only get the cash on delivery.

Its a joke..

Well.. regarding BIK.. mine was ordered in March 2015, due Aug, then Sept, then Dec, then Feb..... i cancelled in Nov late Oct as i had, had enough.. (plus other factors) but the BIK in the final months as it was getting pushed back was costing me £160 a month.. i was already upto £800 extra because of Merc delays from when they said it would arrive..)

It was more frustrating that other were getting their cars and mine had another 4 months plus left!

I work for a leasing broker, use all the main finance companies- but we choose where the cars are ordered ourselves. Had no such silly lead times.
Sure, they're long (and have been since launch), but nothing like a year...

I do feel for all you guys (and gals) who are having to wait sooooo long. I was going stir crazy with having to wait from mid June until the start of December. Although my previous car wasn't due to go back until early November so guess I only had to wait a few weeks in effect. (Not intentionally gloating at all)
The one saving grace is that at least now there are plenty of pics available to salivate over n posts to read in advance. Last year was torture as even google only had a few reviews to read, all copy and pasted from one another.

Ordered via Lex November, due May. Could have had April if I changed the colour. Although my office was Sent the grant paperwork to complete a couple of weeks ago. Does this mean it could be coming through quicker ?

No, they will want to get the grant paper work in ASAP because if they miss it, they will not get the full 5k off the car, making your payments increase by a lot. When I ordered mine on 9th Feb (31march del date don't want to gloat, was a cancelled order) I bloody insisted we got the grant forms in before I signed on the dotted line, as the final cut off for the 5k grant was on the 14th.

I think you will find there will be lots of cancelled orders now because of the delays, there are a few pre reg cars on auto trader. Dealers will want to get shot of these pronto.

look.... look.....Look...LOOK... Temperature gauge. :bannana::bannana::thumb::thumb::rock:

Just need to pop to the MB dealer myself now for the upgrade. :D
