C350e anyone considering one?

Mine is the estate, just the Sport spec with 360 + Privacy.

My colleagues saloon is a month behind mine and they've said his has slipped by a week, but mine has no eta now......or none that they can tell me.

I did order in June last year so I have had a fair wait! Hope you get a sensible date soon.

A few weeks back I had the ETA for my Saloon + all options pushed back from end of May to end of July - and a colleagues has just had his Estate date pushed back from end of June to July - i'm wondering if the seemingly common problems sadly experienced by some users on here ending up with their cars being stuck at the dealers awaiting parts for anything from 4 to 8 weeks is impacting new production ( ie. robbing parts from new make to clear models with major component failures stuck at the dealer )

I doubt it somehow. Car companies have different supply chains for production and spares. I think it is more likely demand still exceeding supply and production being in ramp up particularly for the estate that went into production later than the saloon. So uncertain build capacity playing against ever increasing orders and dealers using more order slots than expected for hybrid vehicles. I am sure there are issues like all new technology but there will be hundreds more owners who don't come on forums. Forums like this will attract fanatics with positive and negative views but inherently more negative ones as the first thing I will do when I have a problem with a new product is see if anyone else has it and knows how to fix it.

Fingers crossed for trouble free driving for all.

Hi
I'm hoping someone can help!
I'm unable to establish an Internet connection. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. I have tried the complicated owners manual without any joy.
I'm no tecie so hoping someone can point me in the right direction!
Thanks

Assume you've "paired" the car and the S6 in Bluetooth. If so, in the S6 "share" your internet connection to turn the S6 into an Internet Hotspot for the car to use to connect to the Web.

Just a little more detail might be helpful. You must have a "Data" agreement on the contract for your mobile. These are commonplace nowadays but if your contract is an old one, you may have to add a data allowance (and pay more?). Mine is 500MB which is generous for me as I do not download videos and lots of music to my iPhone6. I mainly use my Data allowance for an occasional Web excursion and, of course, now for the Mercedes.me Web access.

Are you on O2 or a network that piggy backs on O2 such as gifgaf, Tesco etc? If so the that'll be your problem - it doesn't work for some reason on O2.. If you search back through this thread it is discussed somewhere.

I have a Vodafone phone from work and an O2 personal mobile, everything works absolutely fine on Vidafone but not at all on O2...

Hybrids are built in Bremen regardless of Estate or Saloon currently

Take a read of this -

I was told by my dealer that it is just the Brilliant Blue cars that are made in Germany (or maybe it's the other way around), hence could be the reason for varying lead times. Apparently the other factory doesn't have the capability for the blue paint.

I notice in the odd it says the combined HP is only 205, yet the petrol engine alone is 211... Makes no sense.

Where can I get the rear bumper (AMG Exterior Bumpers) for the Plug-In version. I own a sport version and I wish to install this bumper on my c350e soon. If anyone knows please, lease let me know. Thanks, J.

I love my sport but think the Avantgarde grille and sights looks a bit more special.

Mine is a Brilliant Blue estate. Coming tomorrow - very exciting!

With your contract do you have a tethering allowance? I've got All-You-Can-Eat data, with a 12GB tethering allowance. Most telcos seem to block tethering/hotspot use as a default which is how the car connects to your phone.

Once you've connected, check out Navi then scroll along to (If I remember correctly) trip view, it'll show you the weather, your elevation over your drive, even cameras on the motorway nearby. Not sure if everyone has stumbled on that or not?

First post, unforunately not for a happy reason!

I have had our C350e for 5 weeks, loving it and all working fine.

Today when we plugged it into our home charger I got a red warning symbol on the charger (Chargemaster tethered charger). I turned the charger off at RCD and tried again later, but got the same issue.

I then tried using the charger that came with the car in the boot that plugs into a normal 3 pin socket. As soon as I plugged it in I got a red light on the charger and the car doesn't charge.

In both instances on the actual car charging port itself when plugging in I momentarily get the orange charge light come on as normal, but it disappears after about 1 second.

I remember reading way back earlier in this thread someone had a similar problem, but can't find what the resolution was. Really hoping this doesn't have to go back to the dealer... has anyone else had this issue and resolved it? Should I call MB Roadside assistance to get someone to check the error? The car itself drives but just won't take a charge, which defeats the whole object of this car!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi there, I'm afraid it does sound like you have the same problem I had with mine at roughly the same time in my ownership. There is a fault in some of the cabling which is causing connectors to corrode and creating a short circuit. On mine this caused the charger box to trip out on the mode 2 cable and brought up a fault light on the 13A lead.

It seems to be a regularly occurring fault sadly, but whilst it is frustrating it does mean the dealers will be becoming familiar with the fix. Mine went in for investigation about 3 weeks ago and was in for about a day. I got it back whilst the parts came from Germany then in went in again last Thursday for repair and it is back to normal again and charging from the electrical supply.

You will need to book it in to your dealer and have it looked at, but I'd urge you to specify that you want it back if they can't solve it and have to order parts. I had a new E220 estate for the day and it wasn't a patch on the C350e!

There is a dedicated thread on the subject which I'd link to if I could figure it out!

Thank you for the quick and detailed reply! Good to know they seem to have a solution worked out now, hopefully I can keep the car during the process as you suggest. Does seem quite a schoolboy error by MB but I guess that's new technology.

It's a lease car, and the car came from a dealer about 300 miles away from here,. I assume I need to contact the lease company first or just find a local dealer?

Yeah, mine's a lease car too (Lex). I contacted them to arrange the repair and they booked it in to my local dealer (Northampton) after which I've dealt directly with the dealer.

It's all warranty work so shouldn't be a problem and the parts came fairly quickly. My main wait was due to the availability of a loan car when mine went back in.

I hope you get yours sorted quickly and smoothly.

All booked in for diagnostic at end of the month at local dealer, hopefully not long to wait for parts. Thanks again for the advice :thumb:
