C350e anyone considering one?

Why isn't it being registered as a demonstrator ?

We registered another one. I think they had planned to register two

I agree, but then at the same time 15 ev miles for a phev owner could be as important as 80 ev miles for someone who wants to just drive in ev mode and its not the phev owner who has taken that risk when the core infra is not in place ?

I suspect that would be the exception, not the norm - at least the PHEV has the option of petrol power.

Equally, it is arguable that without the pure EVs to drive the installation and expansion, there would likely be no infrastructure at all for the PHEV cars to use.

News on on street charging : my council have got back to me today and seem intrested in putting in charge points , I pointed out that my council cover 6 or 7 seaside towns and having charge points would bring in more visitors . The council manages have had a meeting and are reading through all the paper work ...so fingers crossed ..any one else had any news on on street charging ?

But one of them is not the same "This 13amp IP65 domestic socket complete with 16amp overload and 30mA fault current " plus can be upgraded to 32a later on if needed , that's why I am getting one , I could not see the point of paying loads for a 16a charger when this is almost as fast at charging the C350e if you see my point

Hmmm... If you have an electrician connect a normal 13 amp socket, with new RCBO fuse on a dedicated circuit in your mains board, the result is the same as above, so you can just use a cheap outdoor circuit.

I agree a 13 amp socket, charging overnight is all this car really needs.

Me, I'll be doing exactly that (electrician brother- so just the material cost).
The dedicated charge points aren't that expensive from wholesale, so I'll just have the cabling and internal fuses capable to upgrade to a tethered charge point in future.
No point using the grant funded option for me, I can still do it cheaper and with more flexibility myself. But I am lucky in that regard...

I'm interested! I came across an attractive offer from fleetdrive electric today (£270 for 6+23, 10k), but was wondering if there are any good deals for private customers?

I have a C350e in stock that was going to be registered as a demo and it's now available.

It's a C350e Sport Premium Saloon in Brilliant Blue with black Artico

JBD. Can you do it for £ 34k after the grant !

Well done, you are a better man than me :)
I have just had an email from my council's complaints department stating that my concern that my emails were not being replied to will be investigated and a response provided within two weeks, that was a week ago.

Good luck bud hope you get it sorted , my council could still pull out but I really hope not

Hi, I'm new to the forum but I have been following the posts with interest over the past few months as I ordered a c350e back in March. I have had the car now for just under 3 weeks, driven it for about 650 miles, and am completely delighted with the way it drives.
I have two questions for any other owners that have had the chance to run their cars for a little while.
1. EV range. I collected the car from the dealer with only 15miles on the clock. First night I fully charged the car, next morning EV range was 16 miles at 100%. Since then it has gone down and I now typically get 12-14 miles on a full charge. Has anyone seen their car register 18miles at 100% charge?
2. External temperature. I understand this isn't a new subject with MB due to kmh/EU legislation, but with the c350e there is no screen at all that shows the outside temperature, even if you try and change the settings in the instrument cluster settings. Both MB customer services and my local dealer are baffled by this one as temperature usually appears on at least one of the Trip screens, but mine doesn't appear on any. I'd be interested to know if any other c350e owners have managed to get theirs to show the temperature.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on choosing an 350e.
I'm still waiting for mine, next month with any luck so can't answer questions,. However I wonder if you have measured the range by simply driving it until the ICE kicks in. Also have you noticed what claims are being made on the battery, radio, air con , satnav etc. We can guess that the figure published by Mercedes for the range capability will be accurate but what we can't know is the test conditions when carried out.
Why am I thinking about VW :D

That's a quick delivery time compared to others.... are you UK based?

is the temp not displayed on the lower part of the screen in the centre console ?

It's a shame to read about all the delays many of you are suffering, the car is a victim of its own success across European countries offering grant incentives. I was extremely lucky to get mine when I did, other orders made with my local dealer at the same time as mine have still not arrived. It is definitely worth the wait.

There is certainly another 1 mile in E-mode when it shows 0 range on the trip screen, hence I have found that I am using all the drive options to maximise the E range from the car. MB have advised me that the range is calculate by driving style, but as you say, 18.6 must be on flat roads at 20mph with no hills and no traffic lights / roundabouts etc.

Certainly am not complaining thought!! The car MPG reading only goes to 99.9+mpg. My 18 mile journey to work, even with an EV range of 12miles, still shows the mpg at 99.9+, compared to my 525d @ 32mpg, it's happy days!

Just need to work out how to charge the car for journey home as I have no charge left to drive back. Problem is charging across a public footpath.....

I am UK based ordered through UK main dealer, I have been very lucky! Currently the only one to arrive at my dealer despite numerous orders.

Lower left part of the centre screen is exactly where the temp should appear, but in every Trip screen it only shows kph. Sat with MB dealer tech rep in the car for good 20mins and no idea of how to get it showing. Currently waiting on an answer from MB. The car is incredibly technical with readings for everything imaginable, so I would be surprised if they overlook something essential.

So the million dollar question, what mpg are you getting on the 18 mile journey home? Does the battery recouoperate any % charge through braking, sailing etc on the journey?

Typically somewhere between 45-55mpg with no charge. About 7 miles of the journey is on the motorway so in Hybrid mode it charges to about 30%. I have found this is typically enough to then get me home the last 2 miles on local B roads in E-mode, this stops the petrol engine from kicking which it does in Hybrid from 20% and below. Once it gets to about 11-12% charge the motor kicks in regardless of mode, so the last 10% cannot be used.

Oh no m8 feel your pain ,at this rate it will be a 16 plate , did they say why ? Was to do with tow bar ?

Just due to the demand and factory issues.... I know some others who have been delayed too, some who ordered may due next March, and some who ordered after due next month so no idea really

Fact is its costing me more now every month it's delayed in Bik for the final 4th year

I think I have now got to the stage of cancelling and walking away from merc.

I thought the lead time had gone down so my lease company said ,what's going to happen about the grant as its going over the 9 months ? Don't give up m8 I am sure it will be worth it,and nothing compares for the price , what have you been looking at ?
