C350e anyone considering one?

For me, the figures are a lot closer than that when taking into account the delays, but the Merc was still cheaper on a month by month basis, but MPG could of pulled that in a bit closer but not by much.

(I also have the option for a cash allowance, which i currently take.)
When I thought my C350e est wasn't going to go through I started looking at the 420d SE Gran Coupe, and with 18 rims added it went into the next BIK band.

In my company scheme I can make a financial contribution towards my vehicle which reduces my benefit (slightly) so choice was contribute towards a Merc or a Beemer.

Merc P11D value will be £46400, Beemer (trying to spec to similar level as the Merc) was £39200.

Monthly cost to me (assuming 20% - its easier that way!) in 1st year (assuming 2015/16 BIK rates) for the vehicles -

Beemer - £210 (20% BIK - 114 g/km)
Merc - £138 (9%, 53 g/km)

By year 4 (assuming 53 g/km = 19% and 114 g/km = 25%) Beemer tops out at £242 p/month, whereas Merc maxes at £214 - so is cheaper, for £7k more car and +80 bhp!!

You have mentioned a few times 'cars over £42k'. Is there specific significance?

Can someone help me out? I basically have to pick the colour tomorrow. I've ruled out red white and blue and left myself with

Obsidian black
Iridium silver
Diamond silver

I picked diamond originally but now I think it's too blue for me. Any thoughts ?

I would go black, really not keen on the W/S205 in silver.

Hi

It's a saloon. The metallic black looks good but really when clean and I don't know how often mine would be !

Hi, is this a personal or company car?
I buy the car for my own use (private) so I chose white for good reasons that might only interest me! If you are keen or enthusiastic about your car and how it looks like from outside, then there are a lot of detailing add-ons that you can use to change the presentation of the car if you have a pure white. It also looks great when you choose privacy glass with white because of the panoramic roof that blends in as an entire black cover bonnet to boot.
It is also easier to take care of touch ups and sticky organic material after motorway journeys!
Good luck :D

I've had Obsidian before and whilst it's lovely when clean it's a pig to keep clean, of those choices I would go for the Iridium.

For me the saloon has to be a dark colour....

Yes, i get you, What i have found though is the PUC (personal financial contribution) for lets says a diesel BMW is a lot less than the merc, but the tax is higher, however depending on the amount of PUC this reduces the BIK as you say, plus theres the deprecation costs set into the PUC figure also.

Dont get me wrong, the Merc is a great car and the right choice while BIK is low and also depends on what other cars you would go for if you chose something else.

Theres no significance to the RRP of £42k, just an example, but the higher the RRP, the higher the % for BIK.

Good conversation! In my situation the (PUC) contribution is a payment towards private use rather than capital contribution - haven't checked to see if that's preferable TBH.

Makes me wonder what the BIK rates will be in 4 years time - unless C02 of vehicles is significantly reduced so that sub 50 g/km becomes the norm, company cars are going to get very expensive!

I went with the same look - Obsidian with privacy glass. As its a sport (C350e) today I had a boot spoiler fitted to chav it up some more.

Thanks for that - I'm one of the 14

And me...... I can't believe there are so few!!
Then again, reading all the tales on here I'm not

Re the CarPlay query, I had been told by my MB dealer that it could be out as a software upgrade early next year. I hope they're right and it's not 2018, CarPlay will be old tech by then!

Rdt123, you've probably made your colour choice now, but I'd add Palladium silver into the mix, looks great with the light grey leather.

Went to MBworld at the weekend for the Brooklands Autumn track event. 3 charging stations advertised on their MBWorld website. Got there, one broken, another filled by their security car (non electric :dk:) and the third filled by their sales team. After 1hr security car agreed to move, but that charging station was also non operational, another hour later sales team agreed to move their car and finally got to charge the car. Team all very polite and apologetic, but I had to smile as the flagship technology centre for Merecedes in the UK were completely caught by a Mercedes customer wanting to charge their car.

Hi

I'm about an hour (or as long as it takes my two year old boy to get to sleep) away from sending the email. I have decided that diamond is too blue so now wondering about iridium which seems a safer silver. I like the look of the car in white but am set on the light leather and I think it really needs to contrast just a little. I have had lots of cars with leather and always fancied a light colour but ended up with black. This time I am determined! Am also wondering whether to switch the gloss trim to black ash as the dealer update for MY 16.5 now adds the option

Aaaaaarghhhhhh

Decisions decissions. :wallbash:

I'm sure you'll get it just right. I like the black gloss trim, looks really classy but showroom cars are polished daily (I assume). The black ash is more forgiving and the analogue clock is nice too.

I should have changed mine for the £195 it cost but I never got around to it. I'm sure I'll have an e-cloth in side door pocket at all times.

Wivenhoe can one be crass and ask how much the spoiler cost?

Also could you please post photos please mate, considering a spoiler myself when my vehicle actually gets here from Germany.

At least I'm looking forward to finally ditching my trusty A4 tomorrow and getting into the complementary CLS the dealer has offered till it does arrive. :)
