C350e anyone considering one?

Wivenhoe can one be crass and ask how much the spoiler cost?

Also could you please post photos please mate, considering a spoiler myself when my vehicle actually gets here from Germany.

At least I'm looking forward to finally ditching my trusty A4 tomorrow and getting into the complementary CLS the dealer has offered till it does arrive. :)

Quonker - I'll post some photos tonight. I didn't pay for the spoiler so not sure what it cost (a very long tale why) - I think it is about £350 painted and fitted. EBay has loads including carbon fibre ones - primed ones seem to be £ 130+.

To reduce finger prints on the black gloss console I plan to apply oleophobic coating.
(Like on iPhone screens/lenses shower screens and certain screen protectors)

Happytalk73 try this idea. Came from uumode at circa page 93. It's a product that you apply with a cloth and gives up to two years protection.

Just picked up my loaner CLS to keep until my C350e finally arrives from Germany.

It's a lovely car I must say, looks stunning in black.

Shame it's only the 220d but it goes well enough.

Did worry that I wouldn't want to get into the C350e once i'd taken delivery of the CLS but it's decidedly old fashioned in comparison, also performance is not on a par of course :)

Also with the colder mornings I'm looking forward to the remote heating function to warm the car so no more scraping!

Had my 350e for three weeks now and have put around 1800 miles on it. I've never plugged it in and in hybrid mode it runs the battery between 10-25%. It only takes around 20 miles to fully charge it from the engine in "charge" mode. On a long 300 mile motorway run in economy mode cruising at 80 mph it returns just over 40mpg. Economy mode returns 38-40 mpg on my home/work commute in heavy traffic.

I'm extremely pleased with it and am happy driving it gently but, boy does it move when you put your foot to the floor!

It's got a great (standard) sound system too which you can enjoy as the car is so quiet.

Overall it's far far better than I expected. Definitely worth waiting for.

How's the CLS - I thought it a great looking car, very comfortable but too wide and long to be practical. Photos of the boot spoiler

Quonker - I had a 14 plate CLS350CDI and thought I would really miss it - never have. The technology in the C350e is streets ahead of the current CLS. I specifically thought I would miss the torque of the turbo diesel but whilst the C350e is a bit more raucous under heavy acceleration, it is quite a 'sweet' sound. I had a 220 GLA whilst they put the spoiler on and I was very relieved to get back into the C350e - the 220 is gruff to say the least - when's delivery of the C350e ?

Wivenhoe the spoiler looks really good, definiately suits the car especially with its performance.

I really like the CLS but it is rather humongous at nearly 5 metres long.

It's perfect as it's just the base model and obviously there is going to be no comparison on performance so I'm still really enjoying the CLS whilst really looking forward to my vehicle arriving.

Dealer showed me their screen which shows my vehicle as built, but delivery to the dealer is forecast to be very end of October or early January.

MB have told the dealer again that the delay is caused as there are cars in front of mine that are awaiting parts and even the dealer said this was far fetched when you imagine how a production line actually works.

Really grateful to the dealer for volunteering use of the CLS though, it's a massive step up from my A4. But definiately seems dated without having the premium packs fitted.

One extra I didn't tick on my C350e was intelligent lights which the CLS has of course, think that was a mistake and I should have gone for it but hey ho hindsight etc.

The other benefit with the C is of course that I won't need to scrap and deice now colder weather is afoot.

Really looking forward to that as well, have you tried it yet?

Presume the heat is instantly on which should make defrosting pretty quick even if you don't use the mobile app thing.

I've used the pre-heat App recently - seats got hot and generally the car was warm - whether it will clear the screen is another thing. You have to make sure that the temp is set to what you want in the morning before you get out as there is no choice to select a temp in the App. I left the temp fairly low after a long drive and it seemed to heat to that in the morning. There is also an option to only pre-heat the drivers seat rather than both to save battery if the thing isn't plugged in.

Are you getting Comand - apologies if you have already seen this, but if so then you can download speed camera locations and have them displayed on the screen and an 'audio' warning.

I went for the Premium+ so yes I am getting it, the CLS has it as well of course and has an SD slot which is referred to when I looked at POIs and I thought I'd investigate how to do this, I know it's mentioned on a page somewhere but haven't had chance to look yet.

Will do as I want to upload it to the CLS as well, presume you can use the same SD in another vehicle or is it locked?

I couldn't see how to set "Home" on the Nav system, doesn't seem the most intuitive but at least I'll have learned it by the time my C350e eventually arrives!

Very nice :thumb: A question: What happened to the side chrome trims on the bumper? Did the car come without them?

You will be able to take the SD from the CLS to the C350e. The instructions / website for the download (£ 20 / year includes regular updates)

For saving 'home' Enter the address, e.g. a city, street and house number.
Once you have entered the address, select Save in the address entry menu by turning and sliding the COMAND controller and press to confirm.

Select Save as "My Address" and press to confirm.
COMAND stores your home address under the My Address entry in the destination memory.

Thanks for posting, really interesting. Now thinking I may not have a charger fitted at home or bother with charging at all!

350e Estate Boot Pics

Hi All

So excited to be reading all the posts about the 350e, I've had mine on order since April and hoping to take delivery mid November. Prem Plus, privacy glass, Light upgrade and in in Brill Blue. Haven't driven one, seen an estate or a saloon for that matter and only saw the colour last week on an C63!! However, does anyone have any pics of the boot on the estate? Keen to see if the batteries have impacted the space much.
Intersting to see some of the MPG figures, I have a 208 mile trip to the office once a week and currently getting 52mpg so may have a bit of a shock, however the BIK was the big selling point me.
Looking forward to learning more as I read through all the posts.
Cheers

There is a pic buried somewhere in this thread IIRC....I'll see if I can find it.

Also getting excited, also never driven it (or any merc), I saw one last week in Birmingham, an estate.

Here you go;

Eagle. The MY16 minor update removed them, deleted the front bits, changed the door mirror surrounds and some spec changes.

Cheers Dan, So do I assume the bag has the cables in? Did you lift the floor or is it just full of batteries!!

Not sure re the bag, I'm pretty sure that step up is the loss of space vs the standard Estate and the batteries are packed underneath.
