C350e anyone considering one?

I've ILS on my loan CLS and it's marvellous, really wishing I'd gone for it on my C350e now.

To see it illuminate both sides of the road ahead with a gap where the car in front is is marvellous.

The lights move around on dark roads and are truly awesome.

Clearly the LED lights themselves are really powerful though and I do miss the CLS having the ability to manually switch to high beam.

Still ILS for the relatively small outlay is something to be seen to be appreciated.

Do you leave the lights on the Auto mode?
Try flicking the selector switch round to the On / dipped beam setting. If it's like my old C Coupe that allowed you to quickly (while driving) override the automatic dipping functions of the ILS.

Quonker - as famous grouse says. - the CLS & C Class allow you to override the ILS by putting the lights on dipped and then push the the stalk for conventional main beam. But when in dipped the ILS is off. I find it easier to leave it in auto and then pull on the stalk for full beam if the system is 'confused'

Fair enough, you have persuaded me to venture out after dark :)

350e you will not be disappointed, especially if on a darkened road.

Mind you at this time of the year dark comes pretty early, wouldn't want you to miss your Horlicks :)

Guys when I push the stalk forward which would normally activate main beam it switches to auto, to high beam I have to pull the stalk towards me.

Might see if I can push it past the auto setting but not sure if I can. Oh well it's only a loaner, joke!

Sorry i thought i had put what i meant by ILS. Interestingly in that video the door handles on tje outside so not have lights on them. It was confirmed on here a few days ago that they do in the UK. Do you think you can turn them on or off via the option button!???
Yes, you can switch it on and off in the car settings.

Pushing the stalk forwards into auto is correct - main beam will be on and the intelligent lighting system will turn main beam on and shape the beam around the other vehicles. The pull towards you lets you flash the lights. No need to try to push the stalk furher.

I love it, I just leave lights on auto all the time. You can see the high beam all around the other cars and I've not had anyone coming toward me flash to suggest I'm dazzling them!

Just an FYI, High beam assist doesn't pick up oncoming pedestrians or cyclists, so unless you turn it off in these scenarios, it ends up blinding them.

Thats interesting, what about when you are in a traffic jam, b road and motorways for example

They worked ok for cyclists today on the journey home!

I do keep a careful eye on the beam to ensure they aren't dazzling anyone, so far so good!

They work perfectly in traffic jams, motorways etc. It's amazing seeing the beam move around the other cars, lighting the road but not the cars!

Absolutely true and I wouldn't be without them but this is the first car in 20 years that I have had that doesn't have headlamp washers ! (Nor an outside temperature gauge as covered exhaustively previously)

Its arrived

I only have a 2 mile commute so I haven't really had a proper go. I did spend 5 minutes this afternoon trying to start the car before realising that the "READY" display meant that the car had actually started and all I needed to do was put it in DRIVE. (Note to self....read that inch thick manual)

Its worth the wait. I like it.

PS. The deep plastic boot liner won't fit the C350E.

So you won't be buying petrol very often :)

Hehe - i also have a 2 / 3 mile commute and work have just fitted electric chargers (Which they may charge us for use) - however, as i have no driveway, this will be useful either way in my battle to not use petrol mon-fri :)

Oddly enough i have had a Gold GTD for the last few years, and within a month of getting it my mileage dropped considerably (To a point that i only did about 10k last year) - so for once i'm hoping i've bought the right car for my use! (here's to crossing fingers!!!) - now i just have to wait till mid-march for delivery! :bannana:

C350e feedback

I have had a C350e Premium Plus Estate Polar White, 18" Alloys, Privacy Glass, Tow Bar, LED ILS, 360 Deg Camera on order since May 2015. Delivery originally forecast for Sept, then delayed to Oct and finally 7 December. Just had contact from the lease car company informing that the car is in dealer stock and will be delivered 27 November.

Can anyone give feedback on the C350e Estate.

Excellent news, welcome to the club!!

Very similar spec to mine - I ordered originally in March and received it a couple of weeks ago.

Feedback is it is a fantastic car, better than I had expected! It is very refined, very quick and excellent integration of the technology. The lights are amazing in the dark the way they wrap themselves around other vehicles but never dazzle them.

The tow bar is also brilliant, completely hidden from view normally, a button on the tailgate releases it when needed and it simply drops down from behind the bumper. The electric socket is built into the towbar itself making a really neat solution!

C350e Estate

Thanks for the Feedback sound really good.

I am looking forward to getting mine. A number of my Colleagues are keen to see mine as its the first of its kind in the company, but many others interested.

What sort you mileage are getting from the batteries, and what MPG are you getting using the engine?
