C350e anyone considering one?

I'm sure the PDI is strictly adhered to across all dealerships and I would not be concerned on that score. I don't know what it involves in detail but I am sure you will be pleased with the handover presentation, even if it might go on for longer than you would wish.
I got the impression that the ConnectMe system is activated via the Sales department, they may need to advise another cdepartment. I just remember that it was not done at the outset by the dealer and after speaking to Mercedes HO. They told me that they could do it if necessary, they had access to the main system, but chose to speak with the dealer which resulted in a satisfactory outcome.

Thanks again 350e :thumb:

How would you manage the pods when eventually so many will want to charge their car ? How many pods will you recommend funding ?
I foresee chaotic scenes in the car park, fights breaking out in order to use the limited facilities

Thankfully for me there are some concerns / issues with plug ins that means they have been suspended from our car list for the last 5 months. My order was already in and confirmed so went ahead thank goodness :bannana:.

They're not that expensive (in corporate money terms); it's more the cost of getting an electricity supply with good capacity to the relevant place initially so I will probably just scale up as demand increases. Might need to get a bit active in ensuring that people once charged are moving their car but I think that's a way off yet.

I charge mine up from a 13amp socket at work which is on a separate RCD. Pods are convenient as I have a Rolec at home, but an IP rated 13amp plug on the wall at work might be a more cost effective way to go?

Do you have a specially lengthened cable or are you using the supplied 8 metre cable ?

OK so cannot believe this....

With the high winds a piece of stone has blown off my roof and damaged my car, only paintwork damage but needs fixing... Then 2 hrs later I get a call from Mercedes saying my car is ready!

I've got to get my current car repaired before I can take delivery of my new one. Merc are ready to deliver on Thursday but I'm guessing the repair work through my company isn't going to be done by then. They won't allow delivery until they can take my current one back. Excited but gutted at the same time.
This is 5-6 weeks earlier than I was expecting!

Calamity, calamity :(

Sorry to read that, very upsetting. Have you spoken to dealer ? I wonder if they would take the car on the understanding that the repair bill will be met by your insurer.

Damn :wallbash: I can feel your pain

I'd be absolutely devastated, sorry to hear that
I suppose the consolation is that when its all sorted you'll have it a month sooner than expected

Are anyone else's dates coming forward? Wondering if they've upped production

I'm afraid not. They've been quite strict with it. Probably to do with ownership of the car, they can't sell it on as quickly if they have to get it fixed and my company won't be paying for the rental of the car once it's returned. Nice to know that it's ready here though and they've kicked off the Mercedes Me registration for me too.

The woman at Merc sounded genuinely gutted for me! Bit of empathy from them.

One silver lining... you hadn't already swapped for the new car!

My 350e estate arrived Thursday (ordered March). Not had time to go very far yet - just about 30 miles on a few local trips. I had a rolec installed at home a few weeks ago so mostly been on batteries so far. Managed to get the pre entry climate control to work on the timer on Friday morning and that's a nice feature. I have a question I'm hoping someone can help with. The car is from Lex Autolease and I know from this thread they block connect me services - what I want to know is whether it's worth me bothiong with any of the Mercedes me / connect me stuff at all - is there anything in there that still works or is it not even worth downloading it?

What do you have ?

I have it fully activated but not clear what is included in the ordinary Comand system via the main screen, Internet Apps and so on.

@ c350e. I haven't downloaded any apps or registered for any connected services yet. I just have the car as it came (c350e estate with premium pack). Not sure if it's worth downloading apps etc if Lex has barred all the functionality. Keen to understand whether there is still useful stuff that is worth downloading or not e.g. will pre-heating work via app or is that included in the general block of connected services by Lex?

Mine is also with Lex and I'm in discussion with them! I've managed to prove to them that every reason they've put forward for not allowing the services to be enabled on the car is flawed and I have a formal complaint lodged, as do a couple of others in my company due to receive their 350e. I would recommend lodging a complaint with Lex as the more people that do, the more likely they are to change their mind..

The pre heating only works in the car menu without remote services enabled, the app won't allow you to do anything at all unless the car is linked to your account and that needs Lex..

Pressure on Lex should be tried but I suspect that they will say that the remedy is for Mercedes to hurry up with their trailed "fleet" solution. As no doubt members of the BVRLA they are more likely to maintain the Association's stated policy.

I imagine you're absolutely right there and Lex won't be changing their mind any time soon. Still, it makes me feel better to make it quite clear to them how annoyed I am with them on this!

Hello. There appear to be a wide selection of OLEV grant funded PHEV/EV home charging points to select from. Is anyone able to advise on the pros and cons of these, please?

Check out the thread related to charging the 350e, there's quite a bit of info there from those who have had pods fitted at home.

Who did you lodge the complaint with as I got nowhere with our dedicated contact?

Tried again last week and got a flat no and they are not going to review the policy.

Next step is a business case on the additional running costs due reduced EV distance with no pre- heat \ unable to get the charge completed notification on public charge points. Don't hold out much hope but worth ago.

How does heating the car assist mpg ?
