C350e anyone considering one?

Pressure on Lex should be tried but I suspect that they will say that the remedy is for Mercedes to hurry up with their trailed "fleet" solution. As no doubt members of the BVRLA they are more likely to maintain the Association's stated policy.

Thanks for the responses. Will try Lex but suspect you're right and it needs MB to release a new fleet friendly version of connect me. Does MB have any option to get feedback through this forum?

Who did you lodge the complaint with as I got nowhere with our dedicated contact?

Tried again last week and got a flat no and they are not going to review the policy.

Next step is a business case on the additional running costs due reduced EV distance with no pre- heat \ unable to get the charge completed notification on public charge points. Don't hold out much hope but worth ago.
I asked them escalate as I wasn't happy with the response or lack of advise at point of ordering. I also complained via Twitter!

You can set the departure time each day so the car pre heats. So far that's worked well but if you change leaving time then it's a pain! As for public charging, an hour will give around a 50% charge increase so you can guesstimate when it will be fully charged. It's frustrating not being able to take advantage of the remote features but my main area of complaint is that Lex didn't advise at point of ordering and as such, I haven't received the complete package that I ordered..

Exciting read, can't wait to take delivery of my blue beauty in the next couple of weeks!!!

Exciting read indeed, particularly this paragraph :D

4-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric drive system, burns just 2.1 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres (112 mpg) and can run on electric power alone for 31 kilometres (19 miles). So if you’re cruising through the city at anything between 40 and 60 km/h (25–35 mph), the rev counter needle will remain rooted to the spot, the combustion engine unstirred.

Basis for a class action perhaps :)

I think you have to try, along with the ability the track the vehicle, search charging points and as you say the pre heat and charging status.

Mine is with Leasplan and I have had no problems......why would you? I don't see why there is any issues with this for the leasing company? Have I missed something? No costs and surely it is just part of the car, albeit remotely!

Tracking is one of the reasons they will not allow it

How does heating the car assist mpg ?

Running the heating /aircon reduces EV range pre heat /cool and you can turn it off to Max your range

Yes I know I can programme it via the console / active it in the car lock it back up and wait or even go old school and put a extra jumper on but that is not the point.

Added to the fact lex did not tell me I had to ask after seeing a post on here about it, I feel justified in fighting to get the hybrid functions turned on

Frost everywhere this morning except for my car as I had the pre-heating timer set which was very nice!

Surprisingly though, the car was down to 73% charge, despite being left plugged in overnight. I though the car was supposed to pre-heat off the mains if it was plugged in, not the car battery?!

Just curious, did you go through Leaseplan to get the car activated or straight to the dealer? I'm still aiming to see if I can find a "friendly dealer" that will enable it for me anyway..

Mine was more than that! Down to about 65% as I got in.
Likewise, I left it plugged in so that's a bit odd. Admittedly, I have the charge brick on the low trickle charge setting due to the socket I'm using temporarily.

Mind you, it was so cold outside I was grateful it was all defrosted and toasty when I got in- so, whatever....!

How long did you pre-heat for? 27% of charge to warm the car up seems high....
I just set a 7am departure time and left the car to work out when it needed to start heating. I was a few minutes later than that when I actually managed to get away. I've used the pre-heat a few times, this is the first frosty day and also the first time I've noticed the battery drained..

Going via Lex but also Mercedes fleet, Mercedes will not do anything without consent from Lex. not tried the dealer route yet, for me that will be a last resort would rather get it done officially that way everyone can benefit

Noticed my range was well down did not check the % will do that tomorrow and let you know

I wonder if in cold weather it would be beneficial to start a journey on petrol ?
Presently the electric charge is worth about two miles :(

That's considerable less than I got this morning did 4 on EV and had about 50% left
I am wondering the sae thing do we need to warm the batteries to get the most from them.

My engine started this morning despite being in hybrid/comfort mode- guess it's the cold weather affecting all sorts.

Not really complaining, it is how it is- as I said, just glad I didn't need an ice scraper and to dress like Michelin man to keep warm this morning! In fact, I got in the car and immediately whipped my hat off, was too warm with it on! Ha. Only myself to blame for clobbering the battery eh...

A front left corner of a Suzuki Swift ran into my 350e Estate on Friday - hit right in the middle of the rear bumper and tailgate. Goes in for repairs today but suspect it will be off the road for a few weeks as the garage wouldn't even try to open the tail gate to check for damage as prob won't close once opened. I'd post some pics if I knew how to! Be interesting to see if the rear bumper is as hard to source as the car. A colleague just been quoted May 2016 delivery.
