You will love it. Had mine a week now today, I finally got to drive it over the weekend (my wife took charge of it all week and wouldn't give me a look in!) - it is a wonderful place to be and a dream to float along in, like being on a magic carpet! I'm a bit disappointed with the fuel economy, only 32 mpg in Hybrid mode whilst driving really carefully! My Audi TTS with 295 bhp can do this without trying. I'm hoping it will improve with mileage but really this car is best for all electric driving on short journeys but I haven't got a decent charge point yet. I tried a 10A extension lead at 8A but it got a bit warm!

Mines Brilliant Blue with Grey leather and dark ash trim, we are really pleased with the combination it's stunning!

Same here, I just stuck my head in through the showroom of an estate at the local dealer! I too am getting a brilliant blue estate, eta 3 weeks time.

I know once everyone gets theirs they are two busy enjoying it, but if anyone does have answers to this and whether you can effectively use the type 2 cable as an extension for the home charger cable I would be grateful

Ah interesting comment about the 10A extension, I was planning to use one of those......how warm did it get? Guess I might have to get a 13A one....

Plugged my 3 pin into an old four way. Charged for 2 hours. No heat at all... finally something that works!

Do you mean the black box attached on the cable? If so can get measurements when I get home. But I'd guess about 25cm long 10 cm wide and 8cm deep. Give or take...

No I don't believe you can. I'm pretty sure the type 2 cable supplied is male to male and for it to work as an extensions you would need a female socket one end.

Can't check at the moment as wifey is out in the car.

10A lead should be OK but just make sure it is fully unreeled - I didn't but should have known better (lazy) and the reeled bit got pretty warm. Once unreeled it was slightly warm but nothing to be concerned about.

Just seeing if it will go in the waterproof box, of course it all depends on where in the 8m 3-pin charge cable it is, if it's near the 3-pin end that it should work.

Thanks for the other replies, that's that idea gone then but sounds like my 10A extension should be ok, it will be fully laid out, no coiling.

The box is 35.5 x 11 x 24 cm, so take off 1-2 cm for internal space, the plug off the extension lead will go in there too.

I'm due to take delivery this Thursday (can't wait!!) and I didn't realise at the time I needed to specify the charging lead lengths at the order time. By the time I'd realised the order had already been locked in place and couldn't be changed.

My charging point at home is 4.6m from where the rear of the car will be parked, I could get it a touch closer but not much, probably around 4.4m. How much give is in the 4m coiled cable? Can any owners confirm if I'll be able to make it just reach or is it 4m at the max?

I had the same problem, had to go for a tethered wall box in the end with a longer cable. You might just manage about 4.5 metres or so at a real stretch.
