Hi.
I've noticed on some of the pictures that people are uploading that their charging cables are coiled. Mine is straight and as it's quite thick takes a while to put away. How did those with coiled cables get coiled cables ? Did you specifically ask for them or is that simply what your car came with.

Thinking of popping into a dealership to see if they'll exchange mine.

mine just came with a coiled cable, which has its own 'pouch' and fits very neatly into the boot of the car when not in use. From what i can remember you couldnt specify coiled or uncoiled when ordering, only 4m or 8m length.

same here, both of mine are coiled and live under the floor...

Yes, both of mine are coiled. The brick charger is fastened to my garage wall. The other cable is in the compartment at the side of the boot. Not really sure why I lug it around with me. I can't see me charging in public with my usual journeys. Maybe the new cables are not coiled for some reason?

Mine are un coiled, I ordered the 8m cables and just presumed that the 4m ones were coiled and 8m un coiled

C350e charging cable extension lead not working

My 4m charging cable came in two sections. The main piece with the black "control box" and a second extension lead. Both of them coiled rather than straight. When I plug just the main cable into the car, it charges fine. When I add the extension lead, which is definitely going to be needed in some locations, whilst the car detects that the cable is connected, no charge appears to flow. I've had the extension lead replaced, but am still seeing the same problem. Has anybody else seen the same and found a way to get it working?

Thx

Hi All. Just joined and new to Mercedes ownership and MB club forum.

I just woke up to find the car didn't charge up last night using the 3 pin plug in cable. I've checked the power is coming from the wall and fuse in the cable but when I look at the black box... nothing! Ive pulled cable out and locked/unlocked car and tried different plugs etc. I've had the car a month and charged it about 20 times this way overnight and today I'm confused as to what has happened? Any clues or ideas?

Are the green lights on the black brick lighting up?

The 'extension cable' isn't, it's a dedicated Mode 3 cable which has different connections enabled for use with a different type of charger. The brick is a Mode 2 device.

How old is the car? I ask, as if it's an early one, this problem could be the early signs of the charge cable in the car failing. If so, it'll be sorted under warranty so no worries, other than the hassle of course. By early, I mean pre July 2016 build date.

This, during my order I was contacted about swapping the standard 4m coiled for an 8m straight due to low stocks

No nothing lighting up on the black box.

Other than checking the fuse in the plug there's not much more you can do other than take it back to the dealers.

I'm assuming you've tried another appliance in the same socket?
