C350e charging cable

Charging cable "brick"

I'm expecting delivery of my c350e estate in a couple of weeks and I'm in the process of getting an outside power point fitted so I can use the standard MB charger.

I've tried to find out if the "brick" on the charging cable is weather proof but can't get an answer online.

Can anyone here confirm if it is indeed weather proof and safe to leave outside, plugged in, in the lovely UK (wet) summer weather?

It is, although the flimsy paperwork that comes with it doesn't give a standard in the English section, just says "waterproof enclosure with a CCID"

However, if you read the back page (the Norwegian bit) I can see an IP67 rating.

Obviously the 13A plug isn't waterproof... :)

Before getting a Rolec charger installed I used it all the time in all weathers with no problems.

So, we brought our 350e estate home yesterday.

I see from this thread that there is apparently storage under the estate's boot? Above the battery? A bit of a stupid bear, I can't find it. Anyone got any pictures that would show it, or other suggestions as to how to find it? Many thanks.

Open the boot and lift up the leading edge of the carpeted boot floor.
Thank you Captain Chaos. Just to be clear, that's the bit with the ribbed grey plastic edge on it in this photo?

It feels as if it needs a bit of force to lift, quite happy to apply force, just want to know I'm applying force to the right bit, not ripping up the wrong bit on a new car.

Yes, that's the bit. The "hinge" is around where the light is falling in that photo. (Where the red wires are coming from).

Thanks! Will give that a go this evening.
