C350e owners club

It switches pre-entry climate control on or off:
Thanks - didn't think to check the App manual - foolish

I don't get it though... there's a pre-entry climate control switch inside the car?!!

I guess you could turn on climate control without the ignition? But still seems a little pointless

I've only seen it on when I've set pre-entry remotely, but too late for it to have finished. No amount of playing with the switch after I've got into the car has helped me work out how to switch it off...

And the manual is almost useless...

I ordered my White Premium Plus with everything but the HUD (wish I had now) in Oct. I was first told, end of Jan, then end of Feb and finally end of May.
Reading through this thread, it seems to be approx. the same wait for many.
This is not only my first Merc but first brand new car. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas and it's a long wait still!

Ordered mine in Dec. First it was due late April, then mid June and now it's due. In the middle of May.

Snap - I had a email from Leaseplan a month or so ago advising the ETA was late May / June, then another a few weeks ago saying ETA around 3rd May.

Waiting is a bitch.

OK. Looks like I am in for a long wait then :(

I had better extend the lease on my old car for a couple of months. It runs out at the end of May.

Thanks for the responses.

Because I can't leave mine plugged in, I attach cable and then use this switch on cold mornings. I can then selectively turn off the rear screen and/or passenger heated seat if not required so it uses less energy. No option to configure these when using the app remotely which is a shame.

Mines Leaseplan as well. I guess it'll be here when it gets here although I would have appreciated the pre-heat over the last month or so!

I had my car delivered just before Xmas... the kicky boot opening thing seems to have given up the ghost already!

I've tried changing the fob batteries as a quick fix, but still doesn't open. Opens fine from the fob.

The right hand 'lock' button in the boot also now does not do anything (but the left hand 'close' button still works).

Does anyone's passenger heated seat automatically come on even if nobody is sat in the seat? In fact both of them automatically come on, it would appear to be when it is cold but it's a pain reaching over to turn passenger one off. Doe anybody have any ideas?

That switch is active when you have "pre-entry climate on key" switched on. I found it a menace because every time I opened the car to put something in the boot for example, it started whirring away and using my battery. If I pushed the switch down (or maybe up, can't remember!) it switched it off, but only until next time. To disable it you need to switch off the "pre-entry climate on key" option. When you do this you can only control the pre-entry climate through the webapp.

Might sound daft, but is the sensor clean?

Thanks, it worked after following your the steps you mentioned. It's counter-intuitive to have a dedicated app under "Mercedes apps" solely for downloading POIs for the navigation system. One would expect the "sent addresses" to become available directly under "favourites" under the navigation software... Anyway, it's not something very practical to do each time as you suggested.

Any idea why our beloved C350e is excluded from Android Auto?

https://www.android.com/intl/en_uk/auto/mercedes-benz/

Currently only these Mercedes models are supported:

2017 A-Class 2017 B-Class 2017 CLA Coupe 2017 CLA Shooting Brake 2017 CLS Coupe 2017 CLS Shooting Brake 2017 E-Class Cabriolet 2017 E-Class Coupe 2017 E-Class Sedan 2017 E-Class Wagon 2017 GLA 2017 GLE 2017 GLE Coupe

I am not happy with Garmin that came with the car, and still using the Waze app on my phone instead. When I got the car, I was hoping there would be a way to make Waze work directly on the car display, but no luck so far.

Another wiring loom replacement

OK, having suffered the "e-mode only, no engine power, reboot" fault 2 days into ownership the dealer has replaced the corrosion-susceptible charging loom as mentioned by lots of you. Remains to be seen if this is really the fix or just a see-if-that-sorts-it.

Glad to be back in my car after a loan new-model E220d estate for the weekend. Nice car but way bigger than I need and not as refined and quiet and snug as the C350e. Silent running. Had a big smile on my face all the way home.

When locking using the boot are you sure there is not a key in the car. That's normally why you can close it but not lock. Is the sensor dirty - I had great difficulty getting the kick close / open working until I read the manual !

Re the loom, could I ask when your car was produced? When I asked, I was told mine had the new part fitted in production. Sadly, I'm so jaded and suspicious, I rarely believe things I am told.

Hi Chris,

I think you're right to be suspicious. My car was registered in March 2016, I don't have a build date, sorry. I've only had a day with it now but I swear the heater is more efficient and I'm getting a few more mpg, although the weather is a touch warmer so maybe it's just that, but I used to have to set the temperature at 24/25 and now it's 20/21 so who knows?
