C350e owners club

Are there any run in procedures to follow?

I think something is mentioned in the user guide regarding not hammering the revs - keep below 3500 I think, I seem to remember a distance of 1500km mentioned. I'm not sure about anything else, I will have a read.

I got mine on Tuesday, and gave it a good run from South Wales to Hatfield and back yesterday. I did a couple of very short local school runs on Tuesday, and was shocked to see something like 17mpg on the trip computer! However yesterday, where I was admittedly taking it easy and fluctuating between 60 and a-little-bit-over-the-limit, with no opportunity to charge it yet, I got around 43mpg in comfort/hybrid.

I also read somewhere that the auto box takes a while to tune itself, is this true? It seems to labour around 30mph as it changes up at the earliest opportunity and is rumbling away in D4 or 5.

Overall though I'm very pleased. I spent the journey constanting changing the seat and steering wheel position. I'll probably be fiddling for another 3 months. The lumbar support in particular is driving me crazy!

Early Xmas present for me yesterday afternoon :D. Beautifully smooth and quiet ride. Gearbox is quite smooth I guess though I am coming from a Lexus CVT gearbox without any gear change so nothing's as smooth as that!

Plugged in over night and 16 mile commute this morning done with very little intervention from the ICE. Once earlier in the journey on the dual carriageway and then later at lower speeds when the battery was low. Need to figure out all the gadgets, phone operation etc now!

It looks a stunner mate. A very merry Christmas to you. :thumb:

Nice motor @newtomercedes worth the long wait!

I recognise that car park - next time I'm there I'll park adjacent and we can start our own little c350e club - once you've installed the Chargers of course ;)

Question about contacts showing up when listing contacts for telephone.
I use a Samsung galaxy s6 and all kinds of contacts come up, also those without a phone number. Seems it pick up all kinds of cached addresses and contacts and variations of them.
Tried to find some kind of filter to just show the ones with phone number, no luck so far.
Anyone experience this? Any solution to this?

Working on getting the chargers in at a sensible price but I've been instructed to only allow blue cars to use them. :dk:

It's interesting the different excitements in that word.

Your excitement = charging your car by plugging it in

My excitement = fitting a supercharger

:D

Must admit it is a stunning colour!

What's interesting with MB is nobody goes out of their way to spec Designo colours and customisation.

I always go individual on BMW where possible makes it your own!

Well I am up and running.
Delivery to office in the dark and rain on Monday night.
Drove home very tentatively in the rain.
Very impressed with quality of ride and fixtures and fittings.
Large screen is in your face but have got used to it and sat nav is great.
Getting used to keyless entry, push button starting and setting off in the morning sounding like a milk float pulling away.

Can't hear engine really - loving Burmeister and transition is seamless between motor and ICE.

I have remained in hybrid mode and have become obsessed with watching charge display lights. The 18" alloys are a thing of beauty and I have never really been bothered about alloys before.

Had cause to take on the motorway and had a very pleasant experience in comfort hybrid mode with the gear shift paddles - it goes very well indeed dropping down one or two gears.

I'm saving myself for slipping into Sport and Sport + at the weekend and can't imagine what it will be like as fast enough already.

Motorway run Mpg was 41.9 driving conservatively and have just done first charge at home with my 8 meter cable and got to full charge showing 16 mile range. Took under two hours to get to full. Very easy hook up.

Will be sorting Connect Me tomorrow having registered everything I can on the website.

Photos at weekend with further observations but very happy except when the kids get in the back in the mornings - dirty feet.....

Oh and I keep touching the touch pad by mistake so need to get into the habit of avoiding it apart from the swipe to change tracks on Spotify through the excellent blue tooth facility.

Order time to delivery was 8 long months and three days.

Poor old Beemer is looking a touch sad in comparison.

Just to add
Spent a few minutes watching favourite film on the DVD player - Charge of the Light Brigade with David Hemmings and Sir John Geilgud. Wife commented that sitting in car like this whilst parked on the drive equals "Sado" - fair point on reflection.

Yes, a strange concept. And I'll bet you've got a wonderfully beautiful living room with a comfy sofa, great lighting and a 40"+ flat screen. However, why wouldn't you want to sit in a Merc in December and watch a film on an 8" screen?

I'd do it if I had one. Enjoy, next time ask Mrs HL to join you. :D

Can this be done whilst the car is moving also?

No. DVD only functions when stationary.
Unless you're chauffeuring, can't see that you'd use it terribly often...!

Had it in a previous car and can't recall using it more than once or twice, and only because I could rather than I needed to...

Some pictures!

Of some cosmetic ideas!
