Hi Folks,

Just had my order placed this week, so will be sitting in the queue waiting for the new toy to arrive.:bannana::bannana:

Dealer is telling me I will have it March and has provided a commission number (whatever the hell that is?). Here is to hoping with both sets of fingers crossed.

Comm number is basically a factory order number to all intents..

Yeah!!!
Picking mine up at the factory in Germany in February.
There will be pictures.

360, HUD, distronic, parktronic, BAS+, Comand online

Working on getting the chargers in at a sensible price but I've been instructed to only allow blue cars to use them. :dk:
Ha ha .... Might still be a busy club.

10 days in and distronic is my fav toy so far although be sure to remember when you've switched it off, else wise you're gonna get to close unless you break, oops !

Horse power's a bit of fun too, although trying to break her in gently.

Family enjoying the 'belt hug', queuing for the front seat just for a hug apparently.

Find myself Plugging in too which is a bit silly with a fuel card, although found a local charge point that's FOC, just trying to do my bit for the env... ;)

Woohoo, looks like I'll be getting a very nice early Christmas prezzy. Just checked the online system and my new car looks to have come into stock, has been given a registration number and is scheduled for delivery on xmas eve. Fingers crossed!!

Has anyone worked out the command online / send to car sat nav functionality yet? I'm isually a natural with technology (at least that's what I tell myself!) yet I haven't worked this one out yet..

I have Mercedes me activated, can see all of the stats and control my car from my phone yet using the navigation bit and "send destination to car" I assumed would set the sat nav destination for you ready for when you get in the car. Despite trying this a number of times, I haven't managed to find the destination I've supposedly sent to the car anywhere in the car navigation system.. Very frustrating for me, would love to hear if anyone has worked this out yet!

Love it!

Just bought a roof rack too....

Already bought the tree, it fit in the boot with the seats down of the trusty estate.

Next year, though...

Charged my car at the AC point of a rapid Charger at Hopwood Park Services on Wed & Thurs while I picked up a coffee, I was just under 1 hour on both occasions and I was just inside the services at Starbucks with a view to the car (closest space to main entrance) I watched as multiple people stopped to inspect the connection, walk around the car and look at the charger post read out. On the occasions I was connecting and disconnecting I fielded questions from many curious people passing, all were very pleasant and many (some company car drivers) suggesting they did not know MB did a Plug in Hybrid. The only sour note was the one grumpy Nissan Leaf Driver (most leafers I met were nice) who arrived and plugged in to a seperate charger he was suggesting I was "pissing in the wind" and his concern was I was blocking a space for another pure EV owners, I accepted that as a fair point but I did confirm I had charge bump app and would give way for a Pure EV If required, and as I could charge my car at this ecotricity point and had the card I had every right to. I charted the % top of the car by the Mercedes Me app while in the coffee shop and disconnected at 85%.

I can see his point, and the likelihood of such encounters will increase if the number of public charge points doesn't keep up with demand. I guess he may have had previous issues with not being able to hook up. Having said that, my opinion would be that if you have a plug-in vehicle, either hybrid or pure then you have as much right to use a charge point as anyone else, with etiquette such as the charge bump app becoming commonplace.

The Command on line system does not have access to the car SIM for destinations. You need to select the MB apps option when in navigation set destination click the link your system will then connect to the web using your phone. You then select the POI app your sent destination will show now lick on it and remember to press start to set it active. The destination will now be set and will show in recent destinations.
The 5 series BMW accesses its own SIM and is ready as a new message when you get in the car. A more refined way of doing the task. A second advantage of the BMW system is it does so in all European countries so no data roaming charges I normally used the hotel WiFi to select and send destinations to the car so no roaming charge. With my E350 I have taken to sending all destinations to the car when in UK and then saving each one in the car before I cross the channel.

Did you do some check on the amount of data it uses if you do roaming?
If one stays away from internet radio, it should in theory not be much.

Curious

Good point about checking it may not be a lot. Will look at what I use in UK as a base line. I not turn roaming off for the continent after returning from holiday some years ago to a larger than expected bill. I understand that O2 now do a daily tariff that helps keep bills down. Still reluctant having had a massive bill in the past.

Returning to the Connected me app it is far more useful than the BMW version. BMW allows send direction, locate car (if within 1.5km), lock/unlock (but no status) start car ventilation. The MB system is more reliable and has so much more functionality just wish destinations could be waiting in the car rather than having to wait for painfully slow hook up to phone. Slow hook up may just be iPhone 4s problem?

And from june 2016 the roaming costs go further down in whole EU, and they will be gone in 2017. Good news!!!

new car arrives January

So my car is at the dealer and I collect it during the first week in January.
It has been interesting reading the threads. I chose the C350e because it appears to offer economy and power. I didn't spec on-line command :fail
Hopefully I will enjoy the car.
For you experienced owners - I only intend to plug the car in when I am at home (probably 4 nights in every week). Do you think this will be a problem?

No technical problem what so ever, not to plug it in at all.

Congratulations BTW :-)
