C350e owners club

Had the car in for a B1 service today - all good. They loaned me a new C220D AMG line estate. The difference between the two cars was surprising. Much prefer my 350e!!

Oddly....when I arrived, it was an 18 mile trip, car was showing 99.9 mpg. Come time to collect, it's now done 20 odd miles and showing low 30s mpg........must have been a rapid run to the shops for beer and fags for the mechanics I suppose.

more likely a long time on idle....

You could have used Mercedes Me to see where they went.
I had my three year service last month. New spark plugs were fitted as part of it. Only done 21,000 miles. I could convince myself the cold idle is a bit smoother.

I’m sure you’re right about that, i was just being facetious. I do so few miles that most of the service items feel pretty pointless really. Brake fluid change I get as it is purely time related, but 2 years feels a bit soon even for that.

Let’s hope no MB mechanic reads that

What’s a Haptic pedal?
In economy it feels like the accelerator sticks when I lift off. Is this something to do with it?
Also my door mirror has stopped tilting down when i go into reverse. Have played with the setting but it’s not clear so have tried both without success.

Is the mirror adjustment switch switched to the left mirror?

Hi all,

I currently own a BMW 330e and i'm interested in making the switch to a 350e. Does anybody know if they are looking to launch a facelift 350e in the near future?

It was certainly talked about, though back then it was supposed to be a C400e. I’d be surprised if they didn’t produce a C class with the same powerplant options as the new E class hybrid.

Try asking on this thread maybe? JBD is in a good position to know.

What do you want to know?

Direct from the press release...if you can believe them ;)

"When driving in electric mode, if the driver's foot meets a point of resistance on the gas pedal this is an indication that maximum electric performance is being delivered. If the driver continues to depress the gas pedal beyond this resistance point, the combustion engine will kick in.

• A double impulse from the ECO Assist function signals that the driver should remove their foot from the gas pedal in order to switch off the combustion engine and decouple it from the drive train. Assuming that the driver does what the double impulse suggests, the intelligent engine management system of the C350e will vary the deceleration mode between unpowered (sailing) and recuperation, using data from the vehicle’s radar systems as its basis."

I’d certainly like the new larger battery capacity in mine. Would make it almost 100% EV for the bulk of my driving. In summer, anyway :)

The regulatory regime and incentives around plug-in hybrids are getting towards the stage where the technology makes no sense. We’re moving slowly towards the UK government demanding 50+ miles range from PHEVs to maintain their favoured status. If a full BEV can travel about 100 miles on the same battery that a PHEV can do 50 miles, the argument to rip out the combustion engine to fit bigger motors and batteries is persuasive.

A business lease on an I-pace is down to £2100 initial plus £350 per month. I think there will be a BEV for me by the time my current lease expires in the summer of 2020.

I can only find business leases around the £900 level for the ipace, who are offering them at £350, may just jump now at that rate.

I've always used the Mercedes Me Web App, but last night it came up with a message to say it's no longer available, but "this will in no way affect the quality of our Mercedes Me connect services". But... if I use the (Crap)App I can't set a timer for the pre-heater. I can only switch it on or off. Am I missing something? Do other people use the App, and know more about it than me?

Not working for me on iPhone either. Says the same.

Did you try the link in that message? Takes you to a new website which Seems to offer most of the same features (including scheduled pre-entry climate)

Thanks Chris. I did have a quick look last night, but couldn't find the pre-entry bit. I've found it now so will play around with it. I notice it has a Monday-Friday option which is a good idea.

There are a few new threads on here about Mercedes Me app vs web. My app only offers pre-entry immediately whereas the web still offers a time. Ted told me about the most useful service, which it to send the destination to the car so no more faffing about trying to enter a destination - on the E it was sending me nuts due to the online preselecting the next character ! Now, if you send a destination when you get in Comand asks you if you want to navigate to the destination and it puts it in as a previous destinations.
