C63 507 Model Register

Hi guys, I'm in the market for a good quality 507 (not an easy task!!). I hope you don't mind me posting here, but it seems like an excellent place to find a good 'un!

I've seen some cars that have issues with flaking lacquer on the red calipers (and on PPP cars too). Is this easily remedied by detailers/bodyshops? Any help, advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated . Thanks in advance!

Possibly maybe putting mine up soon. Coupe, white, 37500 miles. Just had a B service, with front disc and pad change

Hey Shermoan, welcome to the club... we have spoken plenty already as you are aware..!

The red calipers is a relatively easy fix, most just relacquer them. Wouldn’t let this put you off of a ‘good’ car.

Hi Phil, been meaning to ask you if you have mine on the register , she was OV64UZY when I purchased her from Listers in Boston a year ago.

I do but it's a bit strange as not showing up on the MOT database. Has the Reg been changed?

Hi Phil, Yes she's on V8 RMD since last October , coincidentally I also had an E350 CDI estate a 2012 265 model and I switched the Reg over in the run up to replacing it at the begining of this year- the E350CDi had started to give sesnsor trouble and was in need of new dampers and the brake pipes replacing for its next MOT ,was sad to see it go but it didn't owe me anything 130,000 miles in 7.5 years , I replaced it with an even rarer car than the 507's a Passat R-Line edition petrol - only 150 in the UK and just 75 petrol models! I miss the torque of the E350 but it's a lighter car with more power so quicker overall and 4 wheel drive.

Only one and that was a one owner car that was purchased by its second owner a week or so ago.

You'll definitely get another 5 good years I am sure , the engine on mine seemed faster after 100K than before and got more economical , I always ran it on super diesel and I think that really helps them run well at higher mileages. Mine had a very hard life with a monthly run to Belgium/Holland/Germany for its first 5 years combined with taking 3 dogs to various forests down bumpy trails and country roads the rest of the time. Just a shame the S213 follow up is so blobby outside and gaudy inside I just couldn't see myself in one.
