C63 507 Model Register

View attachment 83327

It is , when you want it to be, definitely Jekyll and Hyde , depending which setting the gearbox is in, also quite economical, relatively speaking

I don't manage over 16mpg on a good day and 12mpg usually in s+. Your not driving it properly :)

They are genuine but it's a shady advert with cash on collection only and they're cheap.

I understand why a lot of EBay sellers do Cash on collection, saves PayPal charges. If they were serious better close up pictures would have helped.

Can anyone throw some light on this sticker in the door shut? It’s not the VIN which is lower down but the first half dozen numbers are the same. Is this an identifier for the engine as it states Affalterbach on it ?

Hi, I have just signed up as I am looking for a C63 507 and came across the forum whilst researching.

Hoping to benefit from the obvious experience and knowledge here.

I have only just started to look, there are a couple of dealers relatively local with cars I may be interested in, although not my preferred colour/spec.

Church’s and Kent Motor Cars both have Red Coupes, is anything known about these cars ? I did see some comments earlier re problems with the paint on the red cars, is that a problem on all cars or just some ?

Due to health issues I’m not currently able to travel huge distances to look at cars hence the interest in the two mentioned above.

Welcome

From my experience you may have to travel, and at short notice to find the right car for you. Good , well maintained , unmolested 507s (and regular C63s) are getting harder to find. Those that do come up don’t tend to hang around long. I did a 560 mile round trip to find mine and I’m very happy. Have a look at a few to get a feel for want a good one looks like. When you find a good one you will know straight away.

As for the Fire opal red , I don’t personally know anyone with a car that colour that has not had it repainted under warranty by MB.

Happy hunting. :)

Andy

Thanks for the response.

I was rapidly coming to that conclusion.

Shame about the paint, I was slowly coming round to thinking Red might not be too bad. I guess that’s why there are 3 Hanging around and quite good spec.

I will try to get down to Church’s later this week to have a proper look.

I also like red cars , I’ve had a few. One of the issues is they do show up every stone chip as the base coat is usually white. My previous VW in Tornado Red was horrendous for chipping and I don’t drive up folks B Side. Well worth having a look at cars close to you to get feel for what’s about. Be interesting to hear what the sellers tell you about Fire Opal Red too. ;)

Out of interest, What’s the mileage and Spec on yours? Did you buy privately or a dealer

Thanks

Hi and welcome. I also when I bought mine travelled around 500+ miles and put a deposit down before the dealership had posted pictures of the car! They do not stick around at all.

Thought I'd post my Estate on here. It's already on the register and previously been sold by Romans and Uber GT (who I bought it from). Had to travel down from Central Scotland for it so I agree that these are un-common and buyers needs to be prepared to put in the leg work :)

Only thing I've done since buying it was fitted carbon 'nostrils' from Mode Carbon...oh, and washed it a few times.

Previously had an Audi SQ5 but that's just left me a couple of weeks ago so the 507 is the new daily driver, time will tell how well that works out!

Here are some pics. Enjoy
