C63 507 Model Register

I got asked if it "was real" a few days ago. It's always a mystery. :D

There are a lot of “recreations” or “evocations” as the motor trade refer to them out there. A set of FleaBay side stickers and lookE likeE 507 black alloys does not make a “real one” :D

Then won’t get used at all as the low mileage is the cost premium in the really low mileage cars. Fingers crossed I’ll be getting 4/5k miles on mine this year :thumb:

Good man, I never understand people who buy performance cars and then don’t drive them :wallbash:

Some folk have a lot of money and like to have something “special” in the garage for the odd run out on a dry and sunny day. They probably have several cars and the “special” one gets very little use. A very nice C63 Black Series came up recently and had less than 10k miles and 5 owners.

Yes, wrong wheels, DRL and steering wheel. Looks like they've spent a fair bit on modifications. Those bonnets aren't cheap!

How much are those special bonnets?

Last one I found by accident on flea bay was c£2,700 from memory. Can’t imagine ordering one from a dealer will be any cheaper and to get one painted in designo magno platinum is c£450ish as mine is mine is being done in a couple of weeks.

QED about £3,500ish all in to get one and have it painted I’d imagine unless you are lucky enough to find one on the net that is off a wreck and just needs painting in your required colour.

I don’t think you get the vents for £2,700 either. Alternatively could the previous owner may simply have bought the vents and had holes cut in the bonnet to accept them?

£450 for the bonnet in Magno doesn’t sound that expensive to me. When I looked at a Diamond white C63 with some chips on the bonnet a good quality body shop were looking at £1000 as they said they had to blend the new paint on the bonnet into the wings to get a correct match.

I just found a great car on Auto Trader:

One more listed, anyone know it? 4 owners. Looks to be damaged on the back bumper but been told it was wrapped previously and it’s just some left over bits from removal...

This also now listed:

BL63AZO

Listed at Mercedes Solihull (right next to me) only a week or so ago for all of 5 minutes before it sold at 34500.

Honestly this game makes me sick.

I've enquired at 3 places recommended to me by friends with expensive cars and they were all £425-450 plus the VAT to do the job. The car is also going to have a new PPF cover on the bonnet once the paint has settled down so hopefully my OCD will be appeased once it is all done :D

Ian I’d be carefully who you use, As I believe the Magno is a very difficult colour to replicate, Along with your other panels etc... there was a Magno recently up for sale, Believe he had the rear bumper done. It looked terrible.. and that was pictures. Can’t imagine how it’ll be in person!
I’ve had paintwork in the past. Generally the body shop will come up with excuses such as, It will never look factory again, That’s the best you’d get it. Etc...

Hello Lizn, I have done as much research as can be described as reasonable but as with every time you have paint done on a car there is a strong element of trust, but if some friends have trusted Ferrari’s and Macca’s to the paint shops I have visited I’m good with that. My OCD won’t let me have stone chips on the bonnet, especially under a PPF coating.

I’ll post up a little report once the paint has been done the week of the 15th :thumb:

Grant Kirby has a lovely white estate in stock if anyone is looking for one :thumb:

Interesting wheels. Never seen anything like that before. And someone has been very busy with the black vinyl film!
Can't quite make out the badge on the tailgate [emoji848]

Wonder if the Legacy Edition alloys were the inspiration for the red outline?

Oh look another car that’s on SOR that the owner doesn’t really want to sell but can’t afford to maintain this year so will chance his luck at some idiot who could have bought a new C63 for the same price
