C63 507 Model Register

507s are appreciating by the looks of it :D

Nice thought... doesn’t explain why the magno car of gkirbys has reduced by 2k and the other With 33,000 miles on the clocks is now down to 33k.

I’m a fan of Magno but would never buy one due to the maintenance of it. If you look at the breakdown of 507 by colour it’s easy to spot the popular ones. “Rare” colours are rare for a reason and it’s not that the manufacturers can’t get the paint ;)

I think one of the reasons for the noted uptick in prices is the move towards spring and summer. A lot of cars go up in price this time of year (TVR's are well known for this, particularly if they are a convertible model) as people seem to buy "high day and holiday" cars around this time of year. Whether they sell or not is purely down to what each individual buyer has available as their budget and what the dealer feels is a fair profit for them balanced against how long the car has been on their stocking loan facility.

The cars that have been spotted for sale here recently with prices lowered are likely to be dealers realigning prices to a more realistic level after an initial level of optimism. However, as also mentioned in this thread some cars put up for sale privately are bought by the main specialists in these cars and as such the dealer can buy at a strong level as selling a c£35-40K car privately is a difficult ask as most people would want finance along with a warranty of some sort. If the dealer cannot sell the car at the price indicated it is likely they can move it around in the trade without losing money as there are likely to be other dealers wanting to take a chance of having a rare car in stock that they feel they have a better chance of selling.

Horses for courses I guess and cars such as the 507 will always find a pricing level even if dealers won't confirm sale prices and we need to rely on new owners joining this thread to keep Phil updated.

Good observations.

Bottom line is you can only sell a car to one buyer , and hence only need one to pay the asking price. Condition, mileage, spec, colour , service history , Warrenty etc all have their part to play. Dealers don’t want to have stock sitting around but won’t give it away, if they did they would be out if business. I’d guess most 507s aren’t daily drivers (there will be exceptions, mine isn’t ) so will be a bit of an expensive “toy” which restricts the number of potential buyers. If we’re honest a C63 is not a cheap car to run (if you’re looking after it properly) so will always appeal to a limited market.

I think the estates and saloon's do sell very quickly.

I assume it is because they are harder to find.

Thought I’d be a 507 owner today..

Came to a deal verbally over text with the car at smallcarsdirect after seeing it once previously.

The oil leak was supposed to have been fixed but unfortunately upon inspection it was still leaking, the cam adjuster also sounded noisey on the passenger side valvetrain (or could it be tappers/cam? Unsure without further inspection). Regardless, another wasted journey unfortunately.

I’ve decided to extend my search now by including a couple other cars. If anyone sees anything please let me know.
