C63 507 Model Register

I bought the refurbished genuine ones that were on eBay. They look great, but obviously don’t have the machine finish lip and logo.

If I hadn’t found these, I’d have gone for reproduction rims. I would be frightened to death of curbing the bloody things if I’d spent £3k+ on new genuine ones!

Try a liquid chrome paint pen on the inners. Should work well

£704 for two stickers!
The world has gone mad.
we'll thanks to my signwriter, i can can now get these for far less in the future.

Two things are expensive on the 507 if you are buying genuine MB parts, alloys and side stripes. Some folk aren’t bothered about OEM finish which is fine, others are and that’s ok too. It would be useful to have a post on here , or a separate thread, on where you can get alloys refurbished to OEM finish , especially the satin black ones, and side stripes made in the correct material. Those two bits of information could save some folk a lot of money :thumb:

Sounds like you have hit gold with your sign writer. Once you have had your stripes fitted are you able to share his details? I know some folk in the past have only wanted one part of the stripes , say for the rear bumper, would he just do sections?

If anyone has recommendations on these parts I’m sure everyone would welcome them, especially as all our alloys are getting for 5/6 years old and a bit of a refresh may be in order, or worse still you hit a kerb or pothole.

Phil did you get my answer to your engine builder question earlier?
I did thanks Nigel. Still trying to wade through the list of Master Builders on AMG PL to find someone who's name looks like that. Will let you know when I've found it.

I just found a great car on Auto Trader:

Seems pretty well specced and well priced. Maintained well with full Mercedes history but out of MOT currently.

Options are I think Keyless, sills, ambient lighting, HK, reverse cam, privacy

i totally agree Andy
I've searched the world wide web for decals, I've also bought several sets from various suppliers, all claiming oem pattern, but none are anywhere near.
as for the future, I've had to pay for all the artwork to be done to enable him to replicate the originals. but i will gladly supply them at cost to club members only. It will be a few weeks yet untill they are ready for people to buy as I'll have to make sure that they are exactly the same before making such a bold claim and selling them.
And yes, once ready i will happily share the company details so they can ne bought directly from my source. As for supplying half sets, i don't know yet due to wast material etc. But full sets will be cheap enough to warrant buying a full set. Again full cost are yet to be announced.

Sounds like a great plan and top marks for doing the leg work on this. Look forward to seeing the results.

The alloy wheel refurbishment will be the next “nut to crack” , looking at the adverts for 507 on AutoTrader there are a couple of cars for sale and the black alloys look tired and in need of some TLC. Getting the silver rim is the hard bit. I’ve got an idea on how to refurbish the Himalaya Grey ones without diamond cutting but need to find a wheel first.

Afraid I've drawn a blank. Can't find any engine builder with a name like Waldemar Bruch. Any chance you could have another go at posting a picture. Might have to resize it if the file size is too large.
Thanks
Phil

Does anyone know if Lepsons in Gillingham are familiar with refurbing the Himalaya wheels correctly.
I only ask as I have used them for other vehicle manufacturers and they always do a good job.

Lepsons should be able to do a first rate job on the Himalayas , the only problem with the the finish is you loose some metal every time they are recut and the AMG logo can ended up being lost so they ending up looking like replicas. The warranty on a diamond cut is invariably much less than other finishes too. I emailed Lepsons regarding the satin black alloys and didn’t get any response.

Hi Phil, perhaps you’re more experienced at deciphering the ‘handwriting’ than I...

Luckily my wheels don’t need refurbing yet ,but my brother is thinking of having his done soon on his Evora S so I will ask them about the 507 wheels.
