RE: decals, I had my van broken into last year and the company logo and signs weren’t included on the new replacement door, but ford had a contact in Huntingdon which scan any livery or logo and replicate to whichever material and they looked spot on. When I picked the van up I asked if they had filled and sprayed the lock damage as the signs looked original but it was all new and installed onto a new door, colours matched etc

I nabbed their details from Ford and called them up after, all they’d need is essentially a 507 to get the scan from and they could replicate, I’ll try and dig their details out

Sort of (make that totally) off-topic but have any of you lot visited the factory in Affalterbach?
Thinking about doubling up a trip to the ring and AMG factory visit sometime in the next couple of months. I'm sure I read that it can be arranged via the AMG Private Lounge.

If you’re doing that, go to the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart too. That is fantastic. You should probably allow at least half a day.

Question Re- Front radiator Grill

Er, So, well I kinda broke my front grill trying to take the chrome trims off so I could black them out! ( Head in hands crying in shame)
The grill itself is still intact, but I've broken the clips off the back of the trims. can you just buy the trims or is it a whole new grill?
If its a new grill, are they the same fitment as the Non 507 models? Obviously I want OEM.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most members here are familiar with the Fire Opal Red paint problems and would probably give both those cars a miss simply because of potential paint issues during ownership.
And that is a shame as its a wonderful colour that really suits the 204 shape IMO.

Do the 507’s come with Distronic standard? If so may need a new grille, Kunzmann will sell them cheaper than Mercedes I expect

Actually knew it rung a bell... it’s Speedsters Old car off of here.

Location as per post, the car was just north of M1 J9 heading towards Dunstable.

Second one has been at that dealer for a while now. I bought my 507 from them and can recommend them as good to deal with and knowledgeable so if anyone is looking for a 507 they would be worth a chat about the possible paint issues they may occur as that issue may have happened already and been resolved.

I do thanks @AMGeed. The first one has been for sale since July and the other since Oct. Seems fire opal red is difficult to sell at the moment.
