Hi guys I'm just buying a C63 2013, with 33000 miles

When should the gearbox service be done, I've read it should be done about 30k miles. It was last serviced at 29000 but the gearbox service wasn't done and the suppling Merc dealer said its not due, I'm concerned I'm getting stiched up as its due it's nex service (minor) in April and I'm thinking I'm going to be hit with it.
They won't service the car as its not due within the next 90 days. It's leaving a bitter taste to my new purchase.

The gearbox service is only £250 from my main dealer, I've seen £300 or so quoted from other dealers. Mine is apparently due at the next service, my car is a 2008 with just less than 40k miles on it.

This would be the least of your worries, new rear tyres cost more than that and, in my experience, need replaced every 6000 miles.

Think hard before you buy one. They are amazing machines but can't be run on a shoestring.

Cheers guys, not trying to run it on a shoestring just hate the dealer hiding behind "it's not due within 90 days ******s"

Thanks Phil according to your link it should of been done at 31000 miles.

Oh and the best bit the salesperson emailed me saying it may have longlife oil in the gearbox so won't need doing.

The supplying dealer are in short telling me I can run my car to 41k miles when the next service is due without having the gearbox service because in short there refusing to do it.
When at the service at 29k miles the air filters and duff oil were changed in line with the requirement at 31k but the gearbox wasn't touched.
No there also telling me they have fitted 4 brandnew tyres when it's got different makes front to back and there not MO specification.

I hate main dealers

Tell them you're not interested in a half ****d sale, lot of money to be putting down on a car especially one of those everything service wise should be done. They might even complete the service to lock down the sale, and if not you've not wasted any money and can look elsewhere

This isn't the saloon at Northampton MB is it?

Walk away...

My coupe has 23k Miles on it on a 62 plate and just had the gearbox done at Main dealer for £290 inc. full health check.
With the tyre and gearbox issues I'd walk away...
I bought mine in September this year and it took me 2 months and plenty of visits to different dealerships to find the right car and to meet my budget of 35k max.

I'm loathed to walk away because it took some finding to find this spec of car, plus the 2 year warranty deal ends this month. If the dealer sorts the issues I'm happy I think it's time to speak to the DP as I'm getting nowhere but annoyed with the sales person. I just don't believe a word there saying.

Mate don't mess about with DP ring MB customer service tomorrow tell them you've seen a car you want but dealer refusing to service it to spec for you this invalidating warranty and the car is fitted with non MB approved tyres.

Is the car at a good price? Mileage is a little higher then average, not that it should put you off.

If they do the gearbox service and tyres then go for it, if not i'd personally leave it. Plenty more cars out there.

Very very limited supply with HK, and for me that's a deal breaker, mileage is a little high but I won't do anymore than about 5k a year tops it's just a toy.

I personally wouldn't go for that with HK as a deal breaker

HK isn't the be all and end all... This is a C63 we're talking about- once you've planted your foot for the first time you'll forget what audio is as that's the last thing you'll be wanting to listen to :)

IF they can fulfil the service, and swap the tyres (let's face it that's not a lot of work really is it) then by all means go for it. If not, jog out that forecourt and wait for another to come along, which one definitely will

- what other options does the car come with, Reverse cam? Performance package? Warranty can be bought anywhere

Personally I'd ask them to chuff up for the service and a discount on a service plan, as well as sort the tyres

As above!!! Mine doesn't have the HK. The audio is great and I only have music on during motorway driving. The sound the engine makes never gets old.
AMG's are highly spec'd as standard.
