HELLO ALL THINKIN OF CHANGING ILLUMINATION COLOUR ON A 320 CLK(1999) CLOCK CLUSTER. SAW TOOLS ON EBAY, CAN ONLY DICRIBE THEM AS ICE PICKS WITH HOOKS. DISTRUCTIONS READ SLIDE DOWN SIDE OF CLUSTER UNTIL YOU REACH MARK TWIST AND PULL OUT UNIT ? CALL ME A SCEPTIC BUT THAT JUST SOUNDS TOO EASY.ANYBODY TRIED THESE OR KNOW HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE:confused:

Exactly like that ......

You slide them ( carefully) between the instrument binnacle and the leather of your dash  until you manage to 'hook' the sides of it and then pull it out slowly ....

You may find you have to remove your steering wheel as well to get the instruments right out ...

Don't pull too hard, remember the speedo cable and oil pressure lines are still attached and you don't want to break them ... ;)

Couple of bits of wire coat hanger do the same and cost nothing :D

No speedo cable and no oil pressure lines!

Just a couple of sockets with a mass of wiring going into them, unplug and you're free.

Ah !!!

Technology has moved on since the w124 then .....

nah, technology has moved on since your W124 :) mine has all electrics as well.

You can also get the cluster out by pushing it from behind, remove the trim above the drivers footwell then just reach up and push.

You are a lot less likely to crack the clear plastic or the housing using this method.

HTH
