Hi,
I know you said about the 55W sets being available, but don,t be tempted to fit 100w version as you are effectively doubling the current demand from the car and this could cause blown fuses, failling relays etc. and at worst melted wiring loom, and as mentioned above they are not street legal.

So looks like these chaps are reliable - 55W is the way forward. I tried 100W bulbs in my VW Polo a few years back (not knowing they were not street legal). On a long drive home one of them poped, destroying the bulb connector and melting the wires!

I picked up a standard set of H7's from Poundland to use whilst I'm waiting for the ebay set to arrive

You can't judge bulbs 'by eye'. Many people are impressed with cheap (illegal) HID conversions because they appear very bright in the foreground. BUT you don't notice the rapid falloff, which overall can mean they are worse than normal bulbs.

Auto Express do comprehensive testing on headlight bulbs, and even within 'premium' makes the results vary a lot:

Lightbulb test | Products | Auto Express

I've got the Philips X-treme Power in our 3 vehicles.

Good Choice I think as the Nightbreakers tend not to last very long...

Wasn't planning on doing a group test of 30 different bulbs :thumb: was just going to report back if these are worth the money or total crap!
