Yes they do as you cant have one thing without the other

I think you are correct television. But they have the same nominal input power..that has thrown me a bit as the efficiency appears to be better (more light), so where does the additional heat come from..?
If someone gets some can you give them a quick review?
I have used 50%+ for years even have them on my main beam in the E Class along side the Xenons. It would be interesting to see what 80%+ do.
Hang on ... if the input power is the same as a normal bulb (which it is - 55W), and it emits more energy as light (which it does), then it must produce less heat energy.
You cannae change the laws of physics .
These bulbs do not produce more radiation, they just radiate in a slightly different part of the spectrum, which make it appear as they are "brighter".

The best way to solve this is to try one of each and put it in a box and measure the temperature of the box say after ½ hour, then we will all see the light
And then recharge your flat battery!!
I'm having a bad day and the brain aint firing on all four? Is DRL driving lights?but with DRL switched on
"daytime running lights" perhaps?I'm having a bad day and the brain aint firing on all four? Is DRL driving lights?
Think we might be saying the same thing?! Less infra-red radiation (invisible, 'heat') ... more visible radiation (light) ... same input power.
Hence although providing more light, they don't run hotter.
I wonder who makes those bulbs, you can guarantee it's not Volvo..
Or have I just been lucky ?
I saw a post the other day where this lady had a light bulb in the house that failed after 45 years that was an Osram
