CL65 AMG now sold.... turned to the 'other' side....

I can drool over one any time ... there is one in my underground garage. Dark grey with deep red leather. Quite a small car size wise.

Well done Maff, I was looking at a Vantage on holiday in Scotland and thought it was simply gorgeous. I look forward to the next GTG. When do you take delivery?

Any trips to Kent in the near future!

nooooo!

What was the main reason behind selling it?

Well done Matt.:bannana:

Bags I first drive mate.:D

Just trading mine in, more details soon. But my depreciation was only £16k =45% loss over 3.5 years. Not bad eh.

Very nice car. But that depreciation on the CL. Ouch! Would love to earn it let alone be able to lose it

Make the loss on my C43 a year down the road look like a bit of pocket change.

Sure you will have some enjoyable time with it. Fantastic :bannana:

Maff enjoy ;) :)

Thanks Guys, cant wait now!

Have just expressed the money over to them, so will drive up to Preston and collect tomorrow lunchtime, just have to arrange insurance now which ill do in the morning.

Fuse 22 will be the first mod!
Bit disappointed that it does not come with Xenon headlights though, but of an expensive car to have halogen lights these days.

More pics and full report tomorrow night, if im not still out driving it!!

Wot no Xenons ?! Simple mod, I'm sure ;)

Ah well ... still very nice indeed .. sorry to see the CL go !

Lots of pics soon please :D

S.

Matt,

I have an idea to help you out with the depreciation. We'll pay you a fee to drive the car when you are not using it. You know it makes sense!!! Good choice indeed.

Scott :-)

At 3am this morning the ultimate modification idea came to me, cheap and VERY impressive!!!:) :) Don't pull out this fuse, simply wire it into a very nice switch :bannana: :bannana: Subtle when subtle is required and   when   is required.

You know it makes sense.... My car noisy??? certainly not officer.

John

After a year long love hate relationship (I loved the car but hated its breakdowns and depreciation) I have now gone all sensible and sold it today.

I will be sad to see it go, as its a great piece of engineering, and such a fast car with so much power that almost nothing else can touch, and had some very memorable experiences with the car at Bruntingthorpe and in Germany.

The painful bit was the price.... I sold for £62,000, one year on after I paid £100,000 for it, equal to £3166 per month in depreciation!!

On the plus side this weekend the following arrives ready for approx one year's service (based on average time of me keeping a car!):

Will be interesting to see how they compare, and how it goes.

Matt.

The only consolation for you on that eye watering depreciation is that the original owner must have lost even more money and in a much shorter time.

Overall depreciation on your CL65 since new is of the order of £90k. Now that's depreciation.

Congrats on joining the FORD Owners club.......

Sorry to see the 65 go....looked and sounded like a lovely car.

Sure you'll be OK with 302lb ft of torque ? Can the power be chipped up at all ?

I'm sure you will get many months (maybe years) out of the Aston !!

Matt.

Don't want to offend, but how about BUYING a year old car and saving lots of money and pain.
Edit:- I wonder how much the dealer will try to sell it for.....
