Door closure on 1994 E320 cabrio - what is normal?

Out of all the W124's, the cabrio is the hardest to close, especially with the soft top closed..

try this one...

Hi fuseman,
I may be late, but I just have read your thread today.
I have come across such a problem while reading a Japanese guy diary,he has a W124 and he was suffering from noisy door close (I don't know any japanese, but thanks to Google I can read any language :) ),so I decided to pass you the thread may be it will be of any help.

The locking eye of W208 will fit W124 I think.
Good luck.

"Just get a 129 SL - much easier and IMO better looking"

Seductive but distinctly less practical, perhaps (interior and boot space)?

I can confirm all the reports above from experience with three Coupés. As for adjustments, a friendly and well informed source advised me that it can be more trouble than it is worth, because of the fine tolerances involved with those pillarless structures.

both my 124s (saloon and estate) feel very heavy to close. I suspect its normal. Doors feel very high qualty for it aswell.

R129 boot space is pretty reasonable; you can also take out the wind deflector and cover panel if you need more.

Obviously you don't have two proper rear seats in an R129 though (either none, or seats with lap belts ... depending on year/model). Mine:
