E55 Estate Customer Car Mods MSL

Hi

Went to MSL for a EBRAKE repair. Excellent job! BUT !

two days later :
Battery flat (switched)
wooshing noise - added.

Inspected the wooshing noise .. simple enough ! intercooler hose.
BUT wasnt split !! ...it was CUT ! ..
sorry ACID ! the car has never been touched by any other garage !.

and im sure water pump has had its "fix" done also so just waiting for that to go and will prob find some ball bearing in the flush!.

a sad state of affairs. thought you guys were trustworthy brothers !! but I guess one lives and learns !!

Advice: check the technicians and they are "creating" work for you .

So 2 days later you have a flat battery and a wooshing noise? thats intresting because if the pipe was cut or damaged when it left the workshop it will make a wooshing noise straight away

and BTW do I know you? its funny how you say my name and say you have never been to any other garage and I dont recall you coming here at all!

Wow, it is pretty harsh to accuse someone of switching batteries (and deliberately damaging your car), especially someone like MSL, have you seen the amount of stock theses guys have and the amount of work they have? What could possibly MSL achieve by switching a battery?

Speaking from personal experience, the customer service I received was was top notch and if there is a problem they would not hesitate to sort it out!

I take it you have a 220 CDI?

The boost hoses are very common to split, they also look like they are cut too. I take it it was the top hose?

If you have a problem with a garage. Take it up with them FFS!

Would you be able to do a quick sound clip when it's finished? Just idling and a throttle blip.

I'm collecting clips of different exhausts mods to help me decide about mine.

You need to bear in mind the noise you get when you blip the throttle on a 55k is nothing like what they sound like under load and as you've hopefully grown out of the little boy game of blipping the throttle at the lights it doesn't tell you much about how the car will really sound with that work done.

The wooshing noise is from intercooler pipe and the hose wasnt SPLIT . Its a clear cut.
Im not slating anyone ..its what I have observed. The hose was taken to MB dealer and they concluded it was a cut using some sort of v v sharp knife..
The noise wasnt instant either as drove back to coventry ..now many would say !! AHA !! could have been anything .. well as i said the hose was removed and examined CAREFULLY.

MSL are a great team but this experience ..phew ! lost confidence ..

The guys at MSL are known by many here - professionally AND personally.

Every one of them will tell you categorically that they are good guys, trustworthy and exactly the kind of guys you WOULD want working on your car.

Questioning their trustworthiness is quite frankly an insult.

I can confidently say that your accusations towards MSL are wrong.

In the politest possibly way:

I would give serious thought to considering other possibilities before continuing down this route.

Would you not have simply phoned MSL and asked then for advice, or what they could do to help rather than posting about it on a none related thread without any contact?

Seems odd to me, as I don't know MSL but from what I have seen on this forum I am sure if they were able to help they would have.


As for the E55 I've only ever been in one std one and cannot imagine you need 'more' but I love tunning threads and build threads so all good in my book.

YEP ! its only one garage who have serviced my cars and ..its unfortunate that this experience dictates any future business.

But fair minded people would say that there are two sides to everything, and by publicising this without speaking to MSL, you've taken that aspect away.

If you had a problem with goods or services and you took it to CAB or Trading Standards, an Ombudsman or a solicitor, or even ebay, they would all tell you to take it up with the provider first - it's good practice, possibly even law.

What you have done is unfair.

You've said that you've always had good experiences of MSL.

With this in mind, why would you jump on them so quickly?

I'm sure there is a good explanation as to what happened to the hose - rather than sabotage.

Why didnt you just ring them and explain your issues like any other normal person would do?! Then if they werent happy to help, fair enough, post on here....
