I just put my reg in the my service on mb site
and it quoted me £1046 !
It's last major was 63k and then 68k cars done 72k , the quote is plugs and brake fluid ect .

Plugs are quite pricey but available elsewhere for less than mb.

Where are you based Andrew? Plenty of very good specialists on here who will be more reasonable and know far more generally than the main dealer. I used to take my car to mb but not anymore. I reckon I've only had knowledgable service since going to specialists.

I'm in Sheffield Simon , I'm handy with a spanner
So not worried about plugs ect I will use a local Indy I know of ;)

Being handy with a spanner is one thing, Changing the back 4 spark plugs on a 55k engine is quite another.

But yeah, i wouldnt really advise using a dealer on these, an Indy would be much better.

I don't get it... Having changed my plugs myself I found no issues what so ever on the back 4 spark plugs. Just pop the leads off and away you go.

They have a reputation for seizing, MSL took 2 hours just on one plug that didnt want out.

If all goes well on your drive its happy days, however I was glad I got them to do mine in the end.

Ah icic... I checked the service history for my car and I knew the plugs were changed before so I assumed it would have been fine.

Mileage on 109k.

done mine, took a while but was straightforward, they are due a change this year again.

do you service your own,, what about stamp??

I buy the parts from my main dealer and fit them myself or by an indie if it needs a ramp. Still get the service done by the main dealer but everything is on their computer as its linked to the car. Also take your own oil when you get it serviced
