Very nice indeed, great stuff mate.

Incredible numbers - wheelspin must be brutal!

Is that drive-able at all in the real world or is it just for V max etc?

It's my daily. :D :D

We got slightly better figures on the Saturday when it had cooled down a bit and was strapped down properly. Back up to 900ft/lbs of torque again. :) You can see on the clip it was trying to escape the rollers, and the run above was nowhere near full power.

The new map by Big Fish (Cheers John, owe you one) is a lot smoother than the Weistec one I had on it, and it puts the power down a lot better now, coming in very progressively throughout the range.

As for driving it, it can behave itself like a 320 or 350, but needs a bit more care when accelerating. ;)

Nice one mate.

What did it push on the weistec map?

Very similar figures to be honest Joe, perhaps slightly higher even, got a max of 760bhp on one run. It's just so much better to drive now though, and actually feels quicker than it did, again proving that a rolling road isn't the be all and end all. They've done a cracking job with it, and also made it a lot more driveable. :thumb:

That's amazing numbers from simple mods!!

I'm toying with the idea of a CLS63 - 5.5 bi turbo.

A few on here have done various bits with the Bi-Turbos, RSK21 (Robin) used to run a CLS Brake at over 700bhp, AceJ had similar out of his SL before he bought the GT and Steve Maxwell has got excellent figures from his E63 with just a map.

Worth thinking about...

I thought it looked familiar ;)

Interesting what you say about drivability Dave - people often focus on peak numbers on the rollers, but true performance comes from a good torque curve with lots of area underneath it :thumb:

Cheers Phil, it's just something about the way the powers delivered now, the torque is full on at under 2,500rpm, and just stays there till the power curve meets it.

I took Danny (with the Black Series) out in it on Saturday and he just laughed all the way up the strip, loved it. It still struggles to put power down from a start, but once it's rolling it just pins you back in the seat all the way to stupid speeds. :D

Glad you are happy with the New map Dave. Those figures are excellent fair play. Mine's addictive after the work done at Msl, can't imagine what you're is like! 900lbs of torque, don't recall seeing any higher figure on the forum than that! If I remember, did you previously own a 55? Be interested in your views on how your current TT compares to a swift supercharged 55. Seems like the national future car for many of us 55 owners, with the bi Turbo's torque being available low down.

Morning James,

Yes, I did have an E55 but a few cars ago now. Loved it to bits as well. It was completely standard and the power was delivered very differently to the 5.5 twin turbo which I have now.

The E55 as you know, puts power down from a reasonably early stage, but does thrive on revs to keep it there, whereas the Bi doesn't need many revs at all. I find that to get the best from the acceleration on the supercharged engines, they need a firm right foot, whereas if you try that in mine it will try to throw you into a hedge.

In other words the twin turbo, especially once tweaked a bit, has a lot quicker response. Almost instant with none of the lag which used to be associated with turbos, and a lot lower down the rev range. :)

Dave, your cars defo the way forward, for both guys that like to stay standard, & anyone with an eye on the mods. John was involved in my map, very happy with it. I am hoping to try mine first time at santa pod this sunday all being well. Look forward to seeing yours in action in the future.

I will be nagging you for a run up the strip next time I see you at MSL Dave.

You have a great car there as I may have mentioned many times before:D

Dave your car is beast ;)
