Eescaped prison sentence for 140+mph

Over a pint it is, with the exception of SPX who won't be honest about exceeding the speed limit.

How do you know if I'm being honest or not?

Your little tale about a traffic officer turning a blind eye to you doing nearly 50% over the NSL sounds a bit thin on honesty. But then again, I'm sure they didn't pull you because of your awesome control of the car at 100mph...

Presuming you have a Uk license, do you have any further training/qualifications?

"I overtook a marked police car at 90mph in North Wales on an A road. He continued at 80mph."

Why would you even do that? If you did indeed do so, that is just not cricket, IMHO.

11pm on the A55, no other cars on the road, I caught up with him so no point pretending and playing two faced.

Honesty - a simple yes/no would have sufficed but you gave an answer to a different question.

100mph - you will never know. You could try it but they may have a different attitude towards a RRS driver.

Training - none beyond a UK licence in 1993 and a strong commitment to only driving when I'm driving. And a motorbike licence in 2003.

RWD petrol.

Admit it, you are RedBaron really aren't you?

Why would they have a different attitude? Or is it because they could just sense that you were such a great driver that they supposedly turned a blind eye?

"Driving when I'm driving"?

¿Que?

I think RWD you are just trying to justify that speeding is ok and that if an accident happens, then its the poor fool observing the speed limit is in the wrong.

Gents, thanks for the entertainment. I am no car techy, I have no detailed knowledge of Merc's or any other brand to contribute elsewhere. I just like driving and the odd motoring related discussion.

I'll go back to banking now.

Oh, I wouldn't say so. It's got potential to get far worse yet. At least another five pages of self righteous indignation

I don't see the point in speeding on a motorway. It's not fun or thrilling and there's far to many people not paying attention, so I tend to set off in plenty of time and stick to the limits.

Much more fun is a proper B road blast on a near empty morning / night where you can have much more fun within the speed limit, put proper car control and advanced driving techniques to the test and come home with a smile on your face.

OK, been digging around and just realised you meant another member that has been banned. No, not me. I'm new. I even made the mistake to think Dieselman is a guy that likes diesels but in fact it's Mr Will Dieselman, right? (I still don't like diesels).

I personally love driving at 140mph on public roads. Safe in the knowledge that some on here would embrace me if I plough through their kids. Shouting loudly about how it's all a jolly jape.

Bring out your wife, kids, loved ones. I am coming to an A road you for some classy safe 144 mph driving soon.

That's not very nice. And I doubt anyone here would embrace you for it. But I'm told I should respect other forum members' opinions so I shall.

Sounds dangerous to me. I respect the multiple hazards on A, B and City streets and keep things slow and don't try to reach my driving limits even within the speed limits. Instead I make up time on motorways, which have far fewer hazards and are statistically safer. But I bet you'll get all the 'likes' on here.

Well it's safe. Cause I am. So what is not to like about it. Jeez. What a hoot. Your driving along. Wife and kids. I slam into you at 140+ who's to complain. You pulled out on me pooling along at 70. Get out of my way you Wally. Your fault.

Well, you're breaking the law. But if I pulled out, my mistake. So we're both to blame.
