F1 2024

I’m beginning to wonder if Our Graham visited the museum cafe in our village a few mouths back? 😁
I'm beginning to wonder if Graham isn't former member rorywquin who had similar strange views on LH. Always mocking his clothing or his looks.
He also flounced off the other forum when he disagreed with something petty.

I will be watching the qualy from Canada later this evening. Viewer discretion advised, but the grid outcome may well not be a as predicable as we have known it so far this year.......

We will watch it too. If FP3 is anything to go by, it will be interesting…

I'm assuming you are referring to Lewis' move to Ferrari being a shock? Was a bit of a shock, but Mercedes have struggled under the current regulations to build a really competitive car. So it's not really surprising that Lewis joined up with his old buddy Fred at Ferrari. Probably better to do something than to wait for Mercedes to sort their correlation issues out. Time will tell he made the right choice.
After Canada it shows progress being made. Either driver would have been closer if they hadn't made those mistakes. George in the race and Lewis in qualifying.

Yes I did look at the link.

I'm not a fashion critic. I don't care what he looks like, what clothes he wears, who he dates or what sexual orientation he is, etc.

I'm more of an F1 fan from a technological viewpoint and continually blown away by just how much these cars (and drivers) push the limits of what is possible. I'm not even a particular Lewis Hamilton fan, but I do recognise his driving ability. He is (still) an outstanding racing driver, clearly nearing the end of an F1 career which includes a legacy of success that is almost unsurpassed.
Next season will be very interesting. Ferrari are not far away this year. A way to go yet but it might get interesting McClaren are pretty swift with a good driver at the wheel.

I seem to have my panel lights problem sorted it was the BUS board whatever that is. Still nervous about it though.

Mercedes have been slow to sort out their correlation issues, but were always likely to sooner or later. Maybe they've now got it, maybe not. Canada was encouraging, but the surface was brand new and the conditions were too variable to sure. Again time will tell.

What was the mistake that Lewis made in qualifying? He just seemed to fail to switch the tyres on in Q3. Didn't see any driving mistakes. As for George in the race, his overtake move into the final chicane did cost him, but I don't think he/the car was quite fast enough over the race distance for the win, even though Lewis got fastest lap.

As above Mercedes seem to be now bringing the right sort of upgrades to the circuits to bridge the performance gap to Red Bull.

It appears that one of the new strategies under the cost cap regulations of F1 is the use of 'used' parts. Allegedly it has become quite popular in some teams to have new parts 'tested' briefly on a test car or rig in order that it can be then marked down by as much as 80% in value on the inventory cost sheets.....
Was it ever in doubt that the area of accountancy in F1 was always going to be as creative as the engineers and designers are with the regulations :dk:

I wonder how much a used sandwich would cost?

Mid June and it's Le Mans time again. Having done 16 of these I understand what each of the team members are going through.
Team Jota (one of my former teams) have already lost a car to a practice shunt and are in race to build a new Porsche in the garage prior to the race. This is the sister car to the one Jensen Button is driving. One of the stars of the Brawn GP story and former world champion will compete in the same race as multiple MotoGP legend, Valentino Rossi!
The overall winner this year is harder than ever to predict. There are multiple possibilities with really quick cars including Porsche, Ferrari, Alpine, Cadillac, BMW, Toyota, Peugeot and Lamborghini all in with a real shout.
I'm happy to sit back and watch now. I've served my time at the Le Mans 24 hrs and had some real success.
I won't miss being up for at least 40 hrs from about 6am on the Saturday morning until you fall asleep out of pure necessity on Sunday evening.

No go this year......I dont like having to pay these days either!.. my mate, a certain 5 times winning Mr Bell, used to get me free tickets and we had the fun of the ride down with no luggage to encumber us as one of the owners of Woods coaches was a customer... so we put our stuff in the bottom of the coach and meet up down there to retrieve it!
Definitely something to add to your bucket list if you have not been......quite the experience even if you are not that into the racing....lots of people only really watch the start and the finish anyway! I do regret doing a bungy jump at about midnight with quite so much Jack Daniels inside me though!....food stayed on the inside though.... just!

Just watching qualifying on Eurosport. We last went in 2010. Enjoyed it but don’t fancy going there under canvas again, so would have to do a more luxurious option next time.
